Label Reading - Rule #3

Postby JeffN » Sat Nov 23, 2019 8:50 am

As you know, the guidelines for label reading are guidelines to help you pick the healthiest products. There are only 2 rules...

1) Never ever believe anything on the front of any package ever.

2) always read the Nutrition Facts Label and the ingredient list.

Here is #3

3) Never ever beleive any new VEGAN or PLANT- BASED product is healthy or meets our guidelines.

Most all of them are responding to the current Vegan/WFPB trend that has nothing to do with your health and are high in fat, sat fat, oils, salt, calorie density, added sugars and isolated proteins. Even the creators of most of them say they are not trying to make healthy products. Stick to the tried and true basic products (but always double check to see if they still pass) and always be careful of any new product. >98% will fail.
