vitamin mineral testing

Postby lfwfv » Sat Dec 08, 2018 10:10 pm

After eating a low-fat whole food plant-based diet for nearly 10 years, I am feeling the need to get some basic blood work done to see if i am falling short in any areas.

Would you consider it prudent to check for things like Omega 3 levels, iron, iodine, zinc, B12, vitamin d? Anything else I'm missing? If yes, do you recommend any of the online sites where I can order my own lab tests or should I definitely do this through my PCP? What about hair samples vs blood samples? (i see some cheaper options for hair samples, but I am wondering if they're less helpful...). Thank you for any light you can shed on this.

all the best
