A while back, someone recommended a Weight gurus scale.
I've been trying it out now for the past 6 months or so and what is neat is it connects to your phone
through blue tooth and keeps a graph of your weigh ins and gives you a average for each month

Now that I'm closer to goal I am losing super super slow and I just looked at the monthly averages in the
weight gurus graph and even though it seems like I'm not losing anything, when I look at the monthly averages
it is still going down. So now that I've had it awhile I would recommend it

Last night I was tired and didn't feel like making anything that would require dish washing afterwards
so I cubed 2 medium/large yukon gold potatoes, microwaved in my potato express bag, put on serving
plate, topped with dijon mustard, chipotle powder, and garlic and onion powder, stir to coat, and eat.

I really like that combo and it's quick and easy for a lazy night

Hi Beth, thank you so much for commenting on your Weigh guru scales! I just purchased the same one from Amazon. They get great reviews. And. congratulations on your success!

Hi Moonlight. I hope you like yours as much as I have liked mine. It wasn't until I had it awhile that I realized the true benefit is being able to look backwards at the monthly averages...

I've been trying to add more activity to my routine. I have started riding my exercise bike a few days a week and trying to incorporate stairs... I'm definitely feeling some muscles that I didn't know were there... and it feels good. I've also been working on push-ups. I'm doing incline push-ups against a low kitchen counter for now, until I can progress further. Today I feel it in my back and shoulders.

So this morning I am up to 25 minutes on the exercise bike. I was trying to do a selfie video for my online fitness group and it took the whole 25 minutes just to figure it out so the time went by fast. My RPM was probably a little slow because of that, but next time I will go into knowing I can do 25 minutes no problem and will focus more on getting my RPM up a little higher

I watched this video of Heather Goodwin, who has lost 300 pounds eating plant based and one of the take-aways I got was

GPS - when you make a wrong turn does your GPS tell you "oh no, you'll never get there now!!"?

No, it says -
"recalculating", and then gives you an alternate route.

Same thing, if you have a lapse with your eating, it doesn't mean you have failed and will never reach your goal, you just need to recalculate and get back on your plan

I get encouraged by Heather Goodwin's videos! She is a great example of not turning back.

Amazing transformation, yourself! Keep it up!

Down 65 pounds

I actually posted when my weight loss reached 65 pounds a couple of weeks ago and I noticed the post is missing. I've never had a post disappear before...

Anyway, I thought I would repost... So weird...

I'm now really at 65.4 pounds down... that last 5 pounds to goal is going super slow...and really, even if I never get any lower, I'm happy where I'm at. I'm comfortably wearing size 8 now in everything and never thought I would get there.

I'll never forget my introduction to Dr McDougall and starch based eating years ago when someone forwarded me one of his newsletters with a girl who had cured her migraines eating starch based... and that was the start of my journey...

I have been trying to eat plant based, starch centered for around 5 or 6 years and kept sliding off, not sure why it has stuck this time, I think really immersing myself in it, watching lots of videos has helped

I wouldn't say my migraines are "cured" but they are much better. I haven't used prescription meds for migraine since February... and when I get headaches now I just use Tylenol or Excedrin.

I really appreciate all the information Dr McDougall puts out there for free and I am constantly sending friends links to his 10 day online program

I don't know if this will be any good or not... but I might check out the first part and see if I like it
It's on diabetes and I think it's about plant based eating.. looks like he interviews Esselstyn and others

Down 67 pounds

Only 3 & 1/2 pounds from my goal. YAY

Made it to the gym twice this week and did my exercise bike at home twice ...

Eating is going well.

I've been trying to incorporate more steps (stairs) in my routine. I only have 5 outside steps. Last week when I tried it I went up and down 10 times, then when I tried again later in the week I did 15 trips up and down, and today I made it 30 trips.

I'm using the app Habit Hub to track compliant days.

November wasn't perfect, but there is a lot of green there :) :)

Sorry the image is so big, I can't figure out how to make it smaller

This is a good audio lecture by Dr Lisle on self esteem and how it relates to weight loss
I thought it was pretty interesting.

I went to the gym Monday for an hour weight workout
Wednesday I rode my exercise bike for 30 minutes
