Hello !
it is a been a while i visit this site and read all your stories - now I will start my journey to get back my body i remember i used to have 10 years ago !

Some info about me :
I am in my 40's in good health- newly married - happy with my life-no children yet !

I currently weight 145,2 pd (66 kilos) and height 5,18 feet (158 cm)
so i am overweight and that worries me - I can not remember ever in my life that i had to be on Diet- to watch out what i eat.... So this is going to be tough ,because i am not used to restrick myself .

I am an ethical vegan since 2004, and that was actually, the way i found this wonderfull site with all the critical info about the right way to eat .-I googled about "vegan weight loss diet" . What a SHOCK ! I realized that even though i am vegan i did not eat healthy (i consume a lot of hidden fats ). So here I am!
I have decided for the next 10 days i will eat potatoes (regular and sweet Potatoes) plus greens only. This is Mary's mini diet I plan to follow and i will report here what i eat and how i feel because i do not want to gat out of track this time as i usually do!
My goal is to stay on track and secontly deal with my weight issue.

So for now i have already boiled 7 sweet potatoes for tommorow- ready to go!

Thanks sksamboots ! nice welcome! :-)

here is what i had for today
breakfast : one sweetpotato + one small carot + hot cocoa drink
snack: one sweetpotato + one small carot
lunch : one big veggie salad with balsamico vinegar + 4 regular boiled potatoes
afternoon snack: 5 small spoons of strawberry marmalade + two regular boiled potatoes with ketcup
and still planning to eat another two of them!

NOW I see that i should not had the cocoa drinks ,but how harmfull can those be for my diet? and the marmalade is alloewed? (probably not!)
But on the other hand I am not on the right truck on MMD and this is my Goal!
Tommorow is an other day !

Update time!
breakfast: one carrot because i was not hungry
snack : i forgott to eat because we were too busy at office ( ihad boiled potatoes with me)
lunch : one really big green salad with balsamico plus 3 medium size, boiled potatoes ( i think that I overate..)
supper : i had boiled vegetables (peas)

I have to say that never before in my life happened to forgot to eat! strange thing for me ..
but Good also ;) because that minimized the my daily calories intake!

Hello ...
i steped out of my eating plan today... sad thing to say but that is my truth
Breakfast: one carrot and one cacao drink
snac : something that was not DrMcDougall compiliant but all my colleges had and offered to me and i did not say NO and that is something emparassing to write down here..
lunch: big green leafs salad with balsamico plus boiled vegetables (peas) plus two boiled potatoes
snac: five spoons of strwaberry marmalade

Now i can observe my choices i understand that i could say NO to my colleges because i was hungry ( my breakfast was small). I eat small portions of starches .
Tomorrow i will take care of that . I will eat more starches for breakfast and see what happens with the temptations around me

As i said in the begining , my goal is just to stay loyal to the diet principals . That is my challence as far as i understand my self.
I am disappointed with my self but now i have began to realize my wrong pattern.

Today update
Hello to everybody who is trying to change his/her eating habits!
my menu for today was
breakfast: two potatoes
snack one cocoa drink + one slice of bread
lunch :one really big green salad with tomatos and red peppers with balsamico vinegar + 4 small boild potatoes
snack : nothing
supper: green salad with balsamico + 3 small boiled potatoes

During supper time my family started to comment on what i was eating . They all said that this do not work - I said hat i am not compiliant with the diet . Until now I am 1,5 kilos off.
I felt bad about that . i felt that i had to apologize on what i want to eat. I struggle hard to keep my self on these diet principals (eventhough I do not manage to do it always ) and it too much for me to try to convince them that my path is Ok for everybody , that is working etc
I felt emotionally stressed out.
I will keep on this diet . I want to get back my body i used to have. MY Love to everyone who is trying to change his/her life to better .

weekend update .....
i have to report that this weekend i ate vegan but i added olive oil in my food- my mum was the shef in the house and i did not make any request in advance , and after that it was too late to do something about my meals. and after that i also allowed my self to eat vegan sweets . we also had visitors and we had to cook for another 5 persons - too croweded too mesy, i gave it up for a while .

i feel disappointed with my choices - my body still is thinner though- tomorrow i will begin again my diet .

thanks for encouraging me sksamboots! i am embarassed of my eating behaviour and that is a reason i have decided to expose it here ....
so i move on
Today i did good i think,
Breakfast: one potato
snack: one potato
lunch :three potatoes plus one big green salad with balsamico vinegar plus 2 slices of white bread!
supper :boiled potatoes plus 3 boiled potatoes

i did ok i think - excluding the bread of course .
Today , someone commented at work about my silouet , that it looks like i am getting slimmer!!!
I felt goodddddddddddddd!!
I will keep on. My best wishes to all of you out there!

i am updating my todays menu.
Breakfast: one carrot + cocoa drink with sugar
snack: two boiled medium potatoes
lunch :one potato +boiled peas+ one big green salad with balsamico vinegar plus 2 slices of white bread!
supper :I am not hungry at all

i look my clothes in the closet ,i still can not wear them and i wish i was slimmer right now!
will i still remember this tomorrow ?

My choices and the results

My weight is the same since i began this journal - that makes around 12 days.
that is because i did not follow the plan and I have made too many exceptions .
I had cocoa drinks with sugar - i had bread - i had some ice cream- i had some meals with olive oil (not much but there was some)- had some fruits too. So i had fat with my meals .
Although I had the feeling that I am on a "plan with no fat " , in fact i was not following it . and the result are so poor now for me .

For Today I Had:
Breakfast : one coffee with sugar
lunch: 3 boiled potatoes and big green salad + some boiled peas
Supper: I will follow the same pattern as lunch

Hi veggielou- thanks for mention that , i was just triyng to follow "Mary's Mini Diet" with no success and i think that diet allows only vegetables and one kind of starch (lets say only potatoes or only quinoa). I know that the regular DrMcdougall plan allows fruits but i was trying to fit in my old clothes sooner...... :lol:

Today is my first day i did not make exceptions on my diet plan!!
i celebrate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Breakfast : one potato
snack : nothing
lunch : one big green salad with balsamico vinegar + 2 potatoes
supper : two tomatoes + one potato

that's it for today and i feel no hunger at all :-D

i feel stronger and happy with my todays efforts - i enjoy that feeling a lot - (we can not buy that , we have to fight for that!)

I have to say that today was the second day "with no exceptions"
eventhough i was tempeted to eat some delicious but oily, staffed with rice bell peppers!!!!!! :-D :-D

here I am again to update my today's menu

Breakfast: one potato
snack at 10: one potato
snack at 12: one potato
lunch : big green salad with tomatoes and red peppers + 2 boiled potatoes
supper : one big tomato + slice of bread

TWO points:
I think that i have to drink more water!
my weight is still 64 kilos :-( but i will keep on with the diet

my kindest thoughts to all the world out there
