Day 34

Postby Lola » Mon Jan 09, 2012 2:51 am

I am enjoying this WOE, but my family still disturb me with stupid comments like I need to eat some real food to have energy... I have energy and I don't need to drink coffee to stay awake and I don't feel sleepy after eating as they.
I look better and feel better than anyone in my family.
The only thing that still bothers me are some digestive issues. I hope my system really just needs to get used to this WOE. But from today I will try to eat only foods that are gentle on my digestion. I will eat only McDougall foods from low FODMAP diet - this is the diet made for people with digestive issues.

b - orange juice, oatmeal with banana and flaxseeds
s - corn flakes with soymilk
l - swiss chard with quinoa, pumpernickels
s - corn flakes with apple juice
s - orange juice
d - polenta, pumpernickels

Exercise: one hour and a half walk, squats, crunches, push ups

Day 36

Postby Lola » Wed Jan 11, 2012 10:28 am

b - orange juice, oatmeal with banana
s - cornflakes with soymilk
s - banana bread
l - jasmin rice+broccoli
d - butternut, quinoa, beer bread

I bought non stick bread pan and I had to try it right away. :-D

I am sluggish today - it started yesterday evening. I think my digestion slows if I exercise and not sleep enough... I got up early today and yesterday too, sleeping just 5-6 hours. I experienced this even when I was LFRV. I have to sleep more today.

Just thought I'd pop in to say you're doing GREAT! Don't let comments from your family get you down; you can see the truth in the way you feel! Hope your digestive issues resolve soon. You may want to try an elimination diet if they don't to see if there is something specific that's giving you trouble. Here's a link that may be helpful if you decide to pursue it:

Good luck, and keep on keepin' on! You're changing your life for the better, no matter what anyone else thinks!!! :)

Day 39

Postby Lola » Sat Jan 14, 2012 1:54 pm

Hey,
thank you for your comment :)
My family is slowly adapting to my new WOE, but sometimes I still hear some stupid comments. But I think that they will not distract me from this WOE. :) I am feeling better everyday.

For bloating I will first try to eat a little less, because I eat even if I am not really hungry, especially when I bake some cookies or bread. Because of too much dehydrated food I need to drink a lot of water and there is still gas, so my system is very overloaded. I though this is not normal until I red some comments on this board that our bodies have to adapt to new WOE, so this is why we are more bloated and gassy in the beginning. I really hope this is it. I tried the elimination diet in the beginning, but it was really difficult to eat only rice and few days ago I found out brown rice give me heartburn. Not always but very often, so I don't know what I would be eating on elimination diet now. Sweet potatoes are too expensive to eat them in large amounts for some time. But I am sure white potatoes, oatmeal, polenta, buckwheat and quinoa don't cause any problems. :) Especially when I eat buckwheat and quinoa, it seems my digestion really love this two grains. :)

Otherwise I found this board very supportive and here are a lot of very nice people. :)

Yesterday:
b - orange juice, oatmeal with cinnamon and brown sugar
s - beer bread
l - broccoli, beer bread, dark chocolate
s - rice cakes
d - butternut, apple juice, oatmeal

Today:
b - orange juice, oatmeal with cinnamon and brown sugar, small piece of dark chocolate
s - oatmeal with banana and brown sugar
l - spinach, beer bread
s- apple juice
d - persimmon bread

Tomorrow:
b - orange juice, oatmeal with cinnamon, persimmon bread, apple juice
l - spinach, potatoes
d - polenta with broccoli

I weren't so sedentary these two days. 8)

Day 43

Postby Lola » Wed Jan 18, 2012 4:35 am

I woke up and had time only to drink some fresh orange juice. When I got home I was really hungry and I ate bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar, bowl of cornflakes with vanilla soymilk and brown rice cakes with dark chocolate. I'm planning on broccoli and buckwheat for lunch and maybe some cooked potatoes for dinner.

Three days without stuffing myself. :)

I followed my plan but I also ate brown rice cakes and oatmeal with vanilla soymilk. But I am OK. 8)

I didn't sleep enough today, because I had to get up to go to faculty and my digestion is slower because of this. It's interesting how our bodies are so sensitive.
