Have been gone long enough! My goals are to lose 50lbs. and to get off my high blood pressure meds. My weight has been in the 200's for a couple of years and I'm ready to let it go now. I know this journey wont be easy but it is so worth it. I plan on walking and using pilates as my exercise.
Armywife, Thanks for the inspiration :-D Together we can do this!

We can do this! I've never tried Pilates but have heard so many good things about it, have to try it. My husband said to me last night, "the human body is an amazing machine; if you keep at your exercise program your body will become more and more fit. There is no way that it cannot." Simple but so true. Enjoy your walk, every step makes a difference!

P.S. my mom is a diabetic and suffered hypertension and went on a very similar program called The 30 day Diabetes Miracle and true enough in 30 days she was off her diabetes and hypertension meds. Been off them for 2 years now. YOU WILL GET OFF YOUR MEDS!! :-D

Hey Rebecca! Great job yesterday! Your food sounds yummy, even more so because I'm fasting today! lol! The best kind of exercise is the kind that doesn't look like exercise and walking around the zoo sounds like fun. Keep it up - one successful day after another will eventually get us to our goal!

I think I will record a pilates session on the Veria channel and try it out. I'm always intimidated by those super sleak chicks I see on there. My body feels so heavy I think that I couldn't hold those positions for very long! Can't wait to get out of the 200s! You're real close though  My weight is 223 and my goal is at least 165.

Have a fantastic day today! Be good to yourself :-)

Yesterday and today I've been feeling slugish. Have stayed on track but just low energy. I can't wait to get home and get in bed with a book. I must really need to rest. For breakfast today I had some cold cereal. It really did not hold me like the oats do.

Hey Rebecca,

Great job staying on track despite feeling sluggish. it's always more difficult to do when you're not feeling yourself - so kudos to you! Rest does a body good, so hopefully you will feel better once you get the rest you need. Curling up with a good book sounds wonderful - haven't done that in a VERY LONG time (3 kids 6 and under: daughter 6, twin boys 2 1/2) Enjoy it!!!

Have a great weekend. Be good to yourself :-D

Thanks Armywife :) I guess you don't have much down time with those little ones. My son is 14. He can do most stuff by himself but somehow I am the one who does it :?
Last night we went out to eat and I slipped. I had a large salad w/ crab meat in it. Looking back I should have chosen the salad w/ no meat, baked potato and steamed veggies. We go to this place at least once a month so I better call them and make sure these items are oil free.
Ok, moving forward :)
B: cream of wheat w/ raisins, coffee
L: Tomato, onion, cucumber sandwich, carrot and celery sticks, lentil soup
S; Baked potato or 2
D: Mashed potatoes w/ mushroom gravy, steamed mixed veggies, salad

Hi Rebecca,

Slips are normal, the important thing is to get back on track asap and you did exactly that! The problem comes when we take days or even weeks to get back on track. I hope you're finding time to rest, get some fresh air, sunlight and drinking lots of good pure water. It's good for the mind as well as the body.

Here's to a great week!

Somehow I am not tired of eating oatmeal everyday for breakfast and then later for snack. Been allowing some vegan baked goods and I can see how this would lead me down a road I don't want to go down. So, no more baked items- except on my birthday
B: oatmeal, coffee
S: oatmeal
L: large green salad w/ cucumbers and tomatoes, minestrone soup
S: baby carrots, rice cake
D: red beans on corn bread w/ bean relish
Didn't get my exercise in :\
