Is resisting the temptations getting easier for you the longer you are on the McD eating plan?

A few notes

Postby sigma957 » Tue Feb 01, 2011 10:52 am

Just a few notes and I'll try to answer Dechen's question.

It's been a month and as of today I've lost 10 pounds. If that continues, I'd be happy and I'd be almost at my goal weight a year from now. If the weight loss speeds up, I won't mind either. :D

My BMI went down from 43.4 to 42.0. Still well in the obese category, but getting closer to my goal. I am at 310 pounds and I have been close to this weight, but never actually got down to it before. I really, really want to get down below 300 (and stay there!!). As far as I can remember, I haven't been below 300 pounds in about 20 years. And I haven't been below 200 pounds since college (30 years).

Dechen asked me "Is resisting the temptations getting easier for you the longer you are on the McD eating plan?"

I think so. I don't know why and I don't want to jinx it, but I seem more at peace with this way of eating this time. I see an ad on TV for food and all I can see is the bad stuff in it and how it's bad for me.

I'm trying to get the mindset that food is fuel for my body and for what I want to do with my life. It doesn't have to be a party in your mouth. Yes, I want it to be healthy and filling and to taste good, but it doesn't have to be some exotic concoction with 14 'layers of flavor' as the TV chefs say.

Well, that's it for now.

To get your BMI down 43.4 to 42 is a great achievement. Have you chosen a final weight or are you just gonna trundle along till you feel happy with where you are? Sory for another question. I know I am nosey.

Dechen,

My goal is on my ticker. 180 pounds, a weight I haven't seen since high school. And that will be a BMI of normal weight. So that's my goal for now at least.

This is wonderful! If this gets inside our heads, then the weight will come off as it is ready without us getting too wrapped up in the numbers on the scale.

Meals for Wednesday 2/2/11

B -Hash browns, salsa, orange
L - Hummadilla, salsa
D - snap meal (recipe below)

My partner left very early on her trip this morning and I spent the day neatening up the place. I made my first snap meal for dinner and the leftovers will be for lunch tomorrow.

I don't make the quantities that Jeff does. I don't want more than dinner and lunch from the meal.

So, 1 15 ounce can diced tomatoes, 1/2 of 15 ounce can of pinto beans, about 1/2 pound of Mediterranean blend veggies (whole green beans, carrots, cauliflower, red and yellow peppers and onions), chopped frozen spinach, chili powder, cumin, onion and garlic powder and some pepper. I cooked some instant brown rice.

It was kind of bland, but I didn't add salt, I'm going to try to not add it. I also tried to chew throughly and take my time eating. 1/2 of the rice and veggie mixture are put away for lunch tomorrow.

I'll have to come up with a new one for dinner tomorrow. Something Italian, maybe. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I would like curry, I've never had it.

Jeff adds fresh ginger to some dishes, I have some peeled and frozen, but not sure how I'd like that. I'll have to watch his DVD again.

Back to work tomorrow and starting my new routine.

The nice thing about curry is that you can get it in powder form from mild to very hot and it is quite cheap. I love curry but the family do not like it spicy so I use a mild one and just top mine up with chillies. The fresh ginger is great for the digestion and a little goes a long way.
You should give it a try. :)

I wonder why you are feeling so tired. Are you drinking enough water?
