Just a few notes and I'll try to answer Dechen's question.
It's been a month and as of today I've lost 10 pounds. If that continues, I'd be happy and I'd be almost at my goal weight a year from now. If the weight loss speeds up, I won't mind either.
My BMI went down from 43.4 to 42.0. Still well in the obese category, but getting closer to my goal. I am at 310 pounds and I have been close to this weight, but never actually got down to it before. I really, really want to get down below 300 (and stay there!!). As far as I can remember, I haven't been below 300 pounds in about 20 years. And I haven't been below 200 pounds since college (30 years).
Dechen asked me "Is resisting the temptations getting easier for you the longer you are on the McD eating plan?"
I think so. I don't know why and I don't want to jinx it, but I seem more at peace with this way of eating this time. I see an ad on TV for food and all I can see is the bad stuff in it and how it's bad for me.
I'm trying to get the mindset that food is fuel for my body and for what I want to do with my life. It doesn't have to be a party in your mouth. Yes, I want it to be healthy and filling and to taste good, but it doesn't have to be some exotic concoction with 14 'layers of flavor' as the TV chefs say.
Well, that's it for now.
