Cholesterol 158
triglyceride 83
HDL 76
NON-HDL..whatever that is...82
LDL 65
VLDL cholesterol 14
Chol/HDL Ratio 2.1

weight 108
T-4 Free-Non Dialysis 1.4
TSH 1.04

the only thing I need to talk to the doctor about are a few things...
Hemoglobin 16.3 H
Urea Nitrogen 6 L
Bun/Creat Ratio 7.5 L
Chloride 94 L

Anyway I have a few more test to get the results from and a few more to do. The Mammogram I have to go do at the hospital outpatient and the other women things I can do at the doctors office. At my age, I don't care who looks up there!!!!

So I feel better since my last cholesterol was about 186 or so! Getting there. Still have a few artery dopplers to get the results from but the doctor doesn't have them yet!!!! :D :D

Looks like your doing great. Never seen NonHDL and VLDL put on the blood work before. interesting.

not sure what that is either, but I will ask! Ed's tests got messed up, called the doctor and they are checking with the lab for missing paperwork! I saw what the doctor ordered, it was the same as mine with the addition of the A1C and PSA and he didn't get those or his cholesterol tests....so we are waiting. He doesn't want to go back to redo them. :(

lol! Hey Buns...no actually I started it last January but don't seem to get many responses, so thanks for visiting! Passed most of my Welcome to Medicare Tests that I have gotten the results from as far as I can tell, still have a few more to do!
I figured out what happened with my cholesterol the past two years! I didn't go to my daughters home in Florida this year and eat her stuff (long story) and then come back to Arizona and get my tests done in the beginning of October!
Will post more when I get the rest back! :D :D

just thought I would stop in and say hi! Haven't checked in for awhile.

Seems I passed all my Welcome to Medicare tests, Cholesterol is good, weight 108 or so. Now all I have to do is finish figuring out Medicare itself! I received a drug card in the mail earlier than I expected that Medicare put me on. Seems to cover everything I take except one and waives my copays and deductibles due to the extra help but I still want to check out a few other plans for deductibles. Preferably a free one! :D

I noticed that you weren't that active on the board these days. You've been missed. Glad to hear your doing well. Does this mean you're getting ss too or do you have to wait for that? My girlfriend calls it her "only for me" money and has a great time spending it.

well i didn't pass all my Welcome to Medicare tests. Seems my pap smear had abnormal cells. Now I have to go see a specialist and I can't find a extra insurance plan in my area that my doctor is part of. He is listed for Humana but doesn't show up for the plans I found! And the funny thing is they no longer offer the plans he has listed.
I stopped by his office today to go over the bill for my free Welcome to Medicare tests. Boy this is gonna be fun. Gonna spend time on the phone tomorrow looks like. Oh well it's aways something. May be time to change doctors but it's a hassle getting all my records that I just gave him since he didn't have them. And I really doubt he even read them!

dlb...yes I have been on Social Security since I was 60, thankfully. Now they take more money out of it for Medicare!

Jim...i just haven't spent as much time here as I used to. I do spend more time on Facebook! Although with the iPhone seems like I am always on!

It would be nice if any of our government could answer what the other agencies are doing, but they can't and I can't get a straight answer from anyone! Medicare and Social Security are two different agencies. It's been fun....and now I got to find something before I see a specialist! And I hate that test in the first place.....ugh!

well I broke down and joined a Medicare Advantage Plan with no premium. The only thing I can see that it does is cut the price of the doctor visits down and their drug program isn't too bad. It wasn't the one I wanted but I was having too many problems with my doctors and Humana so I gave up on that one.
And my doctors office resubmitted my tests to Medicare and the blood lab as a heart patient, so maybe they will cover it.

Now all i have to worry about is the Pap smear and will have to wait will Jan 1 to use the new plan...have to make an appointment with the specialist. :-(

Nancy, just stopping in to say hi. You are looking good! Are you feeling good?

Don't worry too much about the pap. Just go see what's up and take care of it. I had that too and a lot of women I know and it turned out fine.

thanks Anna! I just get nervous since I never had a bad one and have to wait a month! It will probably be fine but I freak out at times! Trying to get all this Medicare stuff done is doing me in!!!

Just put on A Christmas Story to watch tonite! I love that movie!!!

Trying to stay off The Food Network! I saw Diners, Driveins and Dives the other night and just got this craving for some Jewish food.. I figure if I dream about it for 3 nights and wake up with the same dream, I better get it out of my system! Never had that happen before but this stuff isn't that bad, just has a bit more oil than I eat! Kishka which is veggie and kasha varnishkas
..also veggie unless they used the egg in it.....so Ed took me to Chompies Deli and I went crazy getting samples of all kinds of things to bring home!

Ed went out camping this week and I have peace and quiet so I stocked up on some food from their deli so I don't have to cook this week! Plan backfired cause I have to cook the food I was planning to cook sometime this week or toss it! :D

I feel fine, just had to find a Medicare Advantage plan to use to save money and I did...so now all I have to do is call the specialist and make an appointment for next month when it takes effect. And they resubmitted my other bills to Medicare so I don't have to pay anything now which is good!
