Why not hit the "Save draft" button now and then, located right next to the Preview and Submit buttons? This way when you do come back, your unfinished message is right where you left it?
Let me see where it saves it so you can find it again . . .
When you look for it, click the User Control Panel located in that green strip at the upper left, under the words Board Index. When you open that, in the left column there's a "Manage drafts" link, and that opens a page of all the messages you saved as drafts. Each one has options that include "view/edit", so click that to continue writing, and when done, hit "save" again. Keep doing that until you're ready to post your message. Then, instead of "view/edit" you would choose "load draft" and that opens it up again right in the forum topic (here) so you can then "preview" and "submit" it like usual.
