Chronic cough and Asthma allery related

Postby lfarnell512004 » Thu Dec 09, 2010 8:50 pm

Can anyone tell me if they have found a cure other than prednisone to stop chronic cough and shortness of breath. This has been going on now for over a year. I have used all other types of medications with no help. I am beside myself.

Dropping dairy and following the McDougall food plan worked wonders for me and I'm sure many other people here. I can't eliminate the inhaled steroid totally but I haven't needed a puff of my rescue med for almost 2 years now, not even during allergy seasons or hot, humid summer days.

Absolutely! I went from a 300+ pound overweight prednisone dependent chronic asthmatic to a slim healthy athlete on this program. Giving up all forms of dairy is key. I also found I improved my sinus allergies when I also removed gluten. I do not exagerate when I say this program saved my life.

Before adopting this diet I had a chronic nasal drip and cough issue I thought was hay fever or allergies. The condition never returned after adopting this diet and I am not exactly sure what I removed that was responsible but I suspect dairy. It's good not to cough!

While adopting this diet and lifestyle program I have reversed my heart disease, high cholesterol, hypertension, and lost 54 lbs. You can follow my story at https://www.drmcdougall.com/james-brown/

Have any of you heard of a connection between wheat or corn and asthma?

As others have stated going dairy-free saved my life. See my Star McDougaller story below. I was steroid dependent and 300 pounds and in and out of the hospital several imes a year. Now I'm 135 pounds and steroid-free.
