Here's a better, short explanation and demo as to what exactly you're trying to accomplish and "how to"

Interesting stuff! I've been getting back into strength training for the past two months and my shoulders are the weakest by far! Doing overhead presses seems strenuous with little weight. I'm going to start trying this hanging techniques and see if it helps!

Thanks for sharing this shoulder info. I've been in PT for a year now for my left shoulder impingement. I'm not very much better and it can still flare up. I showed my PT this video and he isn't sure about it but has started me on this workout anyway. I'll see if I get better. I'm very excited though.

Still on this daily, varies from 2-7 times spread throughout the day, mostly at the lower end of 2-3 or 4 times. Very definite improvement in available ROM and stability. I can still elicit pain in certain positions w/ extreme external rotation, but worlds better. Planning to continue this as part of my daily. I start my warm-up for working out w/ a 1 minute hang, then at minimum do it once more later in the day.

Great video. Pete Egosue suggests standing with your head next to a wall, and flexing your shoulders back and forth 50 times. As we get older we begin to fall forward.

I wonder if this would help me. Yesterday's weight session, I noticed how EXTREMELY weak my left shoulder is, and that is the one that was painful a few months ago (before getting back serious again w.Mcdougalling) ... who ever thought HANGING might help. Brachiating, eh? wow. *thinking about fitness room* where is a pull up bar? hmmm
