Soybeans are a high-fat food and soymilk is refined, so Dr. McDougall recommends limiting it to a splash on your cereal, not using it as a beverage.

Many soy milks are high in fat.

For example, Silk Original Soymilk is 110 calories per 1-cup serving, of which 40 calories are from fat. So that's 36% fat.

And Jeff Novick recommends keeping processed foods to no more than 20% of their calories from fat.
