cholesterol lowered 140 points

Postby avrama » Tue May 01, 2018 10:12 am

I am 60 and skinny 6' tall 140 pound
I never been any heavier than that since HS
But my cholesterol was 240-260 in the last 10 years
Sure my doctors put me on Statins without any specific diet plans
My doctor said it is hereditary-BS

I was not happy to take statins for the rest of my life and stopped taking any about 1 month ago
At the same time I started to eliminate all fats and animal protein from diet
After 1 month my cholesterol is 95! hard to believe it I did the test 2 times-never been so low-ever
No exercise or any supplements

Best of all no more cooking-my life is getting much simple
just pressure cook or slow cook/microwave some potatoes/yams/sweet purple potato or red beets/beans/carrots/lentils
I make my own pickled sauerkraut with red cabbage/cauliflower and salt water and 2 capsules of acidophilus culture to start the fermentation
Spice I use-himalayan salt/paprika/black pepper/curcumin/turmeric and tomato paste/garlic
I discovered if you slow cook dry beans with a bit of baking soda it will not give me any gas-Try it
I eat this with a podrige of polenta/millet/rice/buckwheat/oat
All fruits and watermelon I want for the season
I drink soy/almond milk /pomegranate juice and spring water with a bit of baking soda to cut any acidity

Thanks for your post. I love everything about it. Brief and straightforward, it captures the essence of the McDougall plan. And it's great to see that someone who does NOT have a weight problem can still benefit from the program.
