Thanks for sharing! Very inspiring! Did you two follow the mcdougall program completely, ie, no oils, low fat? Seems from everything I'm reading, this really is what works.

Congratulations on your success. My wife and I sound similar to you, though we have been working on this only since April of this year. We're still working out the kinks, but have achieved amazing progress so far.

How much did exercise play a role in your success?

PerryB wrote: What I found really interesting are some of the archival videos and podacasts Dr. McDougall has posted. They are national treasures, IMO. I especially like the Pritikin and Burkitt videos.
The pritikin video is my all time favorite video. I even downloaded it and made myself a DVD. I also extracted the audio and made myself a CD to listen to in my car. Congrats to you and your wife. Your picture looks great btw. Image

On 7/8/2013, I decided to change my diet to a "mostly" WFPB diet. I have always been somewhat lean and muscular due to being a lifelong exerciser. Change in diet due to feeling crummy all the time despite a healthy outward appearance. Image

Wow great story PerryB - The pictures are wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Thankfully, my wife and I are on the same page. I can't imagine resistance from a spouse. That would be a tough nut.

You are right. My dh is Low Carb - and I struggle. So nice to see you all doing this together. :-D

Glad you decided to join the group. I will look forward to reading furture post.

Thanks for posting. Great testimonial and I love your diet approach. Your pictures show your healthy veg eating glow.
It's nice to hear others talk about the mental clarity because that's truly what keeps me at this. The weight loss is great, but the health an mental status improvements are what keeps us at it.
