Lost 25 Pounds

Postby JulieS » Mon Oct 28, 2013 10:08 am

For some reason, stepping on the scale this morning and seeing a total of 25# lost was more exciting than when the number was 23 lost. Go figure! I know I've heard that it's not the number it is how you feel, but I must say sometimes it is the numbers.

I haven't been to the lab to check stats yet because my numbers were never abnormal or never had high BP or no diseases, so I'm sure when I do get them (maybe next year) they'll be super low. I am still wanting to lose between 11-15 pounds and reduce by one more dress size. I feel great and love the food, so thank you so much Dr. McDougall and all the folks here on the forum for my success at this point!!!

wow, I think that 25 is a lot better sounding than 23 too! and the nice thing is that when you eat this way, starch based, no oils, it will stay off !
Congratulations!
I have lost about 60 lbs and never thought I'd be in the 150s ever again. cured my NAFLD!! Feel great!! Wt loss is so good for the knees and back, ankle, that I know I will never start back to the SAD way of eating again.

Congrats! Keep up the great work. It's amazing how easy it is to lose fat while being full and not having to kill ourselves exercising, unless we enjoy that.

I'm at 18 lbs lost technically but have put on some muscle, my stomach's never been trimmer...I have some round numbers as well which are meaningless but I still want to hit those marks!

Thanks, Everyone! It's funny that if I had lost 25# on let's say Paleo people at work would be hounding me with questions but they know it's "vegan" (too touchy at work to explain McDougall) they don't say peep. One woman starves herself to stay thin, another runs every morning, another eats tiny amounts, so that she can still have her dairy-laced foods, but I eat whole, tasty foods until I'm satisfied (sometimes until I'm full).

Thanks! Congrats to your 18# loss, which is probably more than that since you've added muscle!

Congrats Julie! How long ago, did you embark on the M.Plan?
So excited for myself, as I need to shed at least 10lbs to be at a good bmi. First I tried with fruits only, but the price of fruits are driving the family to the grounds, so M.Plan that is for the future!

Thanks! I started in March; however, I didn't get the hang of no added oils for quite awhile.  Once I stopped that then I gave up the processed breads, pretzels, FF chips (all that junk). Then I really started losing weight! Yet, I'm always satisfied even W/O all that crap I gave up. Good luck to you, too!

Congrats Julie! Image
Image What is your final goal weight? :)
On 7/8/2013, I decided to change my diet to a "mostly" WFPB diet. I have always been somewhat lean and muscular due to being a lifelong exerciser. Change in diet due to feeling crummy all the time despite a healthy outward appearance. Image
