1 week - blood pressure down!

Postby Kateinpdx » Wed Mar 11, 2015 2:05 pm

124/76!!!
My blood pressure reading at the doctor this morning!

My bp has been around 140/90 for a few years. A week ago I checked it and it was 160/100, so a big spike. Today, after 1 week Mcdougalling it's down to 124/76. How great is that?! I don't take bp meds.

I'm looking forward to my lipid panel in April to see what those numbers look like too. (Not something I can usually say!)

I also dropped 1.5 pounds this week. Excited to see what happens over the months and years. Really encouraging to get these kind of results after a single week. I love the food too :)

Hi Kateinpdx,

Congrats on the lower BP. Keep it up and as our resident Nutritional expert, Jeff Novick, says, "...time, adherence and consistency are the most important factors, all of which are in your hands." (viewtopic.php?f=22&t=13075&p=116365&hilit=time+consistency#p116365).

Cheers,
Scott

That is such good news! Isn't it amazing how quickly we can get something good from this way of eating and living!?

Yes. It's wonderful. The body really responds quickly.

I've been Mcdougalling for 18 days and really enjoying it. I've been able to do it while travelling, while eating out and at a wedding. So far I've also dropped 3 pounds, and my pants are already looser, even though the weight loss is still small. Plus I can eat as much as I want of foods I really like, while still losing weight and getting smaller. Fabulous! :-D

Congratulations Kate! Keep going and before you know it a year will have passed and your life will have changed in so many wonderful ways. I've been McDougalling for two years and it has given me a whole new lease on life. I've lost weight, feel great and look younger. This is the Benjamin Button diet!
