Dear Forum members,
I have been three months a vegan and a McDoogler for a month which I love by the way.
I am 60 year old male and at 5' 10" 179 not considered overweight but have not been able to get to 170 for the last 20 years.
I am now 158 and wearing 31 inch waist jeans so this has been great.
My dilemma is explaining the starch diet to my friends and family even though they see the results. Seems they cannot remove the pump handle because they have to know why. They always ask about the high glycemic index number of potatoes which is close to 100.
They claim it will raise my blood sugar too fast and the body will respond with a bunch of insulin and I will eventually hurt my pancreas, gain weight and be hungry soon as my blood sugar rapidly declines. Well as you all know this is not true. I am not hungry or feel weak and I lost finally the 10 pounds I could never lose and another 10 on top of that.
Does Dr. McDougall address this anywhere? And your thoughts also are appreciated.
Sincerely
RT
