Is fruit necessary?

I'm not a big fruit eater but if it's necessary I can toss it in a smoothie.

Hi Granolamom,

Here is what Dr. McDougall says about fruit:

https://www.drmcdougall.com/health/education/free-mcdougall-program/steps-to-recovery/fruits-vegetables/

I read that as you can limit them, so don't worry if they're not your favorite.

I would personally be sure I ate a couple of different of raw and colourful vegetables each day if I was not eating any fruit (like green and orange/red ones).

I do eat lots of veggies raw and cooked. I occasionally eat fruit in my smoothie or as a quick snack but I wasn't sure if it was like a "fit for life" thing where you needed to eat fruit until noon. Thanks for the information.
