down 3 pounds this week, so back where I was before the holidays started. :-D

I'm pretty sure you're all aware of this already, but just in case you missed it, it might be worth mentioning that Plant Pure Summit is live at the moment with all videos available for free for 48hours after they start streaming:

Lost half a pound this week. :) comparing saturday to saturday for consistency with my other weigh-ins.
MWL since 4th of July. Starting weight 161, current weight 151.6.

Now 169.1
Goal is 134.5

total loss 54 lbs

I've been looking at several of the beautiful WFPB cook books with all the gorgeous pictures in them of pancakes, pastas, cakes, biscuits, cookies, sandwiches and dairy free no oil pizzas. A lot of tofu, avocado, nuts and nut butters are used in these recipes.

So beginning last week I had some sandwiches, noodles, bread, tofu and avocado, several times. I really enjoyed the sandwiches and noodles! Unfortunately I went up 5 pounds shortly after after last week's weigh in. All the weight gain was around my waist line. My pants were tighter. It took me many days to get back down again.

I work in an office sitting down all day. Maybe if I was much more active it wouldn't be so easy for me to gain the weight back?

I can't get away with these foods at all it seems , sad :(
It has put me through emotional ups and downs, and for a few days I was really crabby about it, and felt resentment :angry: towards these gorgeous cookbooks all telling you you will lose weight using their books. I was so discouraged I was ready to throw in the towel and give up entirely.

Yesterday, once again I pulled out Dr. McDougall's Maximum weight loss program and reread the chapters on insulin resistance and how some people are slow losers. The book is a haven for me. I pulled out Mary's recipe books again and put the others a little farther away.

Much as I wish I could eat pastas, breads, cakes, pancakes and biscuits it really seems that I really can't. Perhaps a once a week treat for one item only and not at night, but even one time slows weight loss. For sure, no nuts and nut butters for me - nuts and nut butters are a guarantee of weight gain for me

I wish Mary had a weight loss cookbook full of beautiful food pictures, pictures are so appealing. I'm really looking forward to the new McDougall book! I understand there are many pictures of Mary's recipes in it.

Some of the Star McDougallers stories really help me to keep going.

I am joining this week after eating this way for 4 days. I am modifying by adding the Chef AJ way since I am a food addict too.
My start weight is 132.5 and would like to lose 30 lbs. I am looking forward to the accountability! So far, so good!!

Ok, I've been sick with a cold the past 2 weeks. I haven't exercised like I normally do and I've had pasta - 3 days in a row. Yeah! I made a yummy potato cheese thing...Needed comfort while sick I guess. Plus, I think my taste buds are off because I want salty things. Feeling better and getting on track!

I dropped the two and a half that I put on last week so (-2.5). That means I have been at the same weight basically since the start of July. but since I took the hit for it last week, you better believe I'm taking the credit for it this week.

only down 200g this week, what is that, half a pound? Better than nothing and still going in the right direction.
I shared a tofu in black bean sauce with DD yesterday so maybe it's water retention from the MSG :o

Jane, I hear what you say about glossy recipes. I need to remind myself that just because technically all the meals are healthy does not mean it's OK to have 3 meals from the glossy photos every day :crybaby:
I think I look at cookbooks like other people look at fashion magazines. Just ordered Isa's "Appetite for Reduction" which only has a few photos of the recipes in the middle but find that the description of the recipes is enough to make me want to start cooking.

Sorry I missed a couple of weigh-ins. But I had a check up with the doctor last week and am happy that he told me that I lost 11 lbs since my last appointment six months ago.
