I am posting a beginning weight of 148.5 today. Tonight it will be potatoes and salad for dinner. I would love to hear what everyone is eating.

-3 lbs this week - what a victory! I've been eating WFPB for over two years and initially gained 6 lbs and have NOT been able to lose that 6 lbs or the additional 30 that still need to come off. This is my first significant loss and all because I have FINALLY embraced the caloric density mantra. Jeff's explanations on these boards was extremely helpful - I know I've heard this information and don't know why it's taken so long for me to grasp - but I think I've finally got it! Well, I guess I do know, I didn't want to give up my delicious home-baked breads, muffins and nut butters :D .

My typical meals this past week have been 1 lb of veggies first thing in the morning, whatever I have on hand (frozen spinach, kale, mixed veggies or fresh tomatoes and cucumbers); later I have a bowl of oatmeal and if I'm still hungry some fruit. Lunch is typically leftovers from previous dinners and a huge salad with a homemade oil free dressing. Dinners consisted of rice/potatoes/corn, at least 1/2 cup of beans and lots of veggies. Our CSA has been overflowing with zucchini, squash and eggplant so I've been roasting/steaming these and topping with oil-free sauces. After dinner is another serving of fruit, either fresh or banana cream.

I completely forgot to post yesterday and honestly only 3 or 4 meals were on plan this week. HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH CONSTANT FOOD INVITATIONS??? Nights out on the town, lunch meetings, parents having you over for dinner, date nights with wine/cheese, birthdays? I'm beginning to hate it all and just want to be a recluse!

Up 0.8 this week.
Current weight 241.2 lbs.

Last Wednesday my weight shot back up to 245 and I got really upset/sad. Glad to be down 3.8 from Wed, but need to stop weighing myself daily, and focus on focusing. Sigh. Work stress > exhausted/sad/lazy > messy house > disorganized > home stress > eat out > fail > then go back to work the next day and do it all over again.

I'm a mess.

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry I am so late!! We went shopping yesterday and got home late. Meant to come on this morning and do the tally and started, but totally forgot. We are trying our hand at food prep. Now too bad for a first day, but I sure hope next time it doesn't take all damn day. I've been cooking since morning....I don't want to spend every Sunday food prepping for the week. I go back to work tomorrow and I'm a little stressed/worried as I will probably be full time now. sigh....

Great to see so many new "faces" this week!! Keep coming back. :)

Belcimo,
I'm finding restaurants to be pretty accommodating. Not perfect, of course, but usually if they fail its because I forgot to ask them to leave out an ingredient (usually cheese).
When I'm going to office parties or homes I always bring a dish that I can eat (and share) even if I was told not to bring anything..
The most useful thing I learned this year is that if it is doubtful that there will be MWL food, I eat before I go. It can be as simple as throwing some zucchini and rice in a dish and microwaving it, but with something in my stomach I can resist a lot more than when I'm hungry. I might weaken and eat a few bites off plan, but its better than a plate-full.
