Thought it would be best to start this now. Even though we are off for summer, I tend to still forget to come in and make the new thread for the month.

For the newcomer, I collated this from some earlier threads....

Here is a refresher on some guidelines for posting here and participating in our monthly weigh-in thread.

Our weigh in's are on Fridays and you have until 12 PM PST on Saturday to report.

Anyone is welcome to join the weekly weigh in group as long as they follow the McDougall principles. While we recommend the Maximum Weight Loss (MWL) plan, it can be any one of the McDougall program including the MWL plan, the regular McDougall plan, or Mary's Mini's, the Elimination Diet or any of the McDougall plans.

There is a sticky at the top of this forum on the guidelines for the MWL program.

In order to tally the results please submit your results by posting the total pounds you have lost or gained that week. You don't have to share your total weight if you'd rather keep that to yourself. This is an honor system so we take the gain, loss or maintain you give us in order to tally.

If you are a new member and would like to join but don't have a weight to be counted for the week then you will be counted either as a body with a zero starting weight, or when you check in for the weekly weigh in the following week. Large amounts of weight lost over a period of months or weeks, prior to joining the weekly weigh in group, will not be counted towards the weekly total.

If you measure your weight in something other than pounds please convert the measurement to pounds.

All gains will be counted towards the total to encourage weekly participation. Posting is encouraged whether it's a gain, a loss, or a maintain.

You are welcome to share as little or as much as you want on your weight loss journey here in this thread. We encourage members of the group to talk to each other, cheer each other on and set goals together.

This thread is for the mutual support of all who wish to participate.

<logging my weight a day early this week but we've got a child free evening and decided to make a date out of it :D >

OK quick update from yesterday. It seems I managed to go out, have a good time, and still be a sensible girl. New updated weight loss for this week: 4 pounds.

I'm up 0.25 this week.

To avoid dealing with the daily fluctuations, I'll report the change in Friday-to-Thursday weekly averages from now on.

Hi all! I just joined this discussion board today, and it is GREAT to get here just in time for my first weigh-in after making the decision to follow Dr. McDougall's programs exclusively. I have been a vegan for a little over a year, and so far I have lost over 100 lbs. The major changes I am today making is becoming very low fat, eating more starch and less fruit, and on Sunday I am beginning an exercise program for the first time in my 68 years of life!

Today, I weigh 185 lbs., down from an all-time high of 293 lbs. My goal weight is 125 lbs., so I just have 60 lbs. left to lose. I KNOW I can do it!!

I am VERY much looking forward to getting to know all of you! Have a BEAUTIFUL week! :)

I'm glad so many of you seem to have done so well this week. I'm up seven tenths this week (+0.7). I didn't do anything so terrible, but maybe just not as focused as I might have been. A new month, another week, the struggle continues. Sorry to not help with the group totals.

Congratulation to all you losers. Hope to join you next week. Watch out for those fourth of July picnics. Maybe it's time to work up a batch of Jeff's burgers.

I have been a follower for years...I have fallen off the wagon recently...summer, meals out...blah and now I find myself 12 pounds over what I want. I weigh 145 pounds and am 5'8" tall. This is a good reminder to get back on the "horse".
