I also purchased 6 bags of frozen Stahl Diced Sweet Potatoes. Ingredients are sweet potatoes. That is it!
For the past couple of days I have only eaten oatmeal, rice, veggies, tea, coffee, water. So I realize I will have to stop the coffee and tea but I really need to get a full detailed lecture of coffee. Coffee is my best friend. I had a hard time going from regular to decaff but I have tried and tried to go without my coffee and I have not successfully done it as yet.

Welcome Therese!! Congrats on already losing! You will continue to feel better as time goes on. There are many here who have significantly reduced their asthma symptoms getting off of animal products. On the coffee issue, take it slow. Worry about the food at this point. Once you get the food right, you can tackle the addictive caffeine. Coffee is really hard to come off of. As long as you are moving forward. I came off of decades of coffee addiction. I planned it when I had a long weekend off from work, 4 day President's day from school bus driving) and I tapered off as the preceding week went on. I had been drinking at least 2 cups a day, so I just tapered off during that week. I had some headaches, but it wasn't as bad as I expected. And what I learned is how much MORE alert I am in the am without it. I get some jokes about it but I sleep better at night and wake up better and am very alert while many co-workers drag around at 6 am coffee in hand. But worry about getting the food right first. The food is hard enough without stressing about giving up something as addictive as coffee. :)

Welcome to our newbies! Glad you all are here, new and returning! At the end of June, 6 months will have passed from the new year. And 6 months will remain of the "new" year. Hazelrah touched on if he lost half a pound a week, it might take him 1.5 yrs to get to goal. That is progress. That is moving forward. That is still getting healthy. None of us gained our weight in 1 week or 1 month. We gained it over the course of months and years. It is easier to gain weight than it is to lose weight, even under the most perfect circumstances. So remember that when you "only lose" a half a pound or "only" a couple of tenths. :)

Down six tenths this week (-0.6). And my exercise has gone to new lows so this is all diet.

So June keeps rocking!

Congrats to all US losers. Keep it going everybody!

Have been thrown off routines by ongoing stress and in turn, have been eating poorly. Could use accountability so I'll join you for next week, if I may.

I am the same this week. No loss, no gain. This is really something though because I had a very rough and busy week. Wound up eating out 3 times. I thought for sure all was not good. I really need to start walking though.

Last week: 215
This week: 215

I lost nothing this week, zip zero nada. I know when I finished the Mary's Mini I got excited about variety again and was eating more. I also went out to eat once this past week, Mexican, had a bean burrito which seemed okay at the time but probably had some added fat to it, I couldn't tell. I wasn't sure what to order when I looked at the menu; they did have a vegetarian choice, but when I told the waitress what I needed she was very helpful and recommended the bean burrito instead, which was indeed very tasty. That was my first restaurant experience to ask a waiter or waitress for help choosing and it really worked well. I was surprised at how knowledgeable and helpful she was and I won't be afraid to ask for help again when I go out. I hope everyone else did well this week!

Hello folks,

down 1 pound this week. Nothing exciting but going in the right direction. Maybe I need a new daily mantra to remind myself that the tortoise won the race in the end :D If nothing else, at least my skin has plenty of time to shrink with my fat stores. There are two ladies at my work who had gastric bypasses (or bands, not sure) and lost massive amounts of weight and yet they'll never wear anything figure hugging because of excess skin. :-(

We're onto the last two weeks of school, which is always a busy time. Attending senior prom on Tuesday and have e-mailed ahead to the hotel which responded very nicely with meal suggestions to fit my vegan plan. It won't be entirely fat free but I guess it is a celebration of sorts.

I'm down 29 pounds from the beginning of the year and would really like to break the 30 pound barrier before the end of the month, if only to give me a mini goal for the 6 months mark. So here's to next week and to a decent loss.

Have a great week, everybody.

Hi,

good on you for involving the wait staff. Never be afraid to ask. Also, keep in mind that restaurant food will have more salt than you would use in your own kitchen which could result in water retention. I went out for a lunch to a tiny cafe this week and after speaking to the kitchen it turned out that the soup unfortunately had bacon in it (who would do a thing like that!!!) but they fixed me an enormous sandwich with mustard and balsamico and every salad ingredient they had on hand. Filling, delicious, and pretty much on plan.
