Oh no!
Just went for a 10km run and without thinking are some flavoured yogurt.
Does that I should just sit out this month and not participate in the weigh in.
I feel like such a loser :o

New. Just started today. Not sure where to post weight. 179. Hoping to lose around 30 lbs but real goal is to stay off blood pressure medicine and reduce my risk for disease and illness. I had kidney cancer 5 years ago and have been fortunate. I am committed to the plant based lifestyle. Anxious to see what happens in the coming weeks. I like having a support group. Thank you!

Good morning folks,

welcome to all the newbies in the group and good luck for the week ahead.

I'm down 2 pounds this week. External examiners are in the school for the next few weeks and they're all older ladies who love to bring in cakes and biscuits. My colleague and I have been sitting in the staff room waving around fruit and veg like Dr van Helsing would wave a cross at a horde of vampires and hey ho - it's paid off.

Have a good week folks,

Kerstin :)

Oh no, no, no--please don't sit out the month! Or even the next few hours! Slip-ups are normal, and you can learn from them! I'm assuming someone handed you the yogurt at the end of the run, or something? It's difficult at first to remember before you put food in the mouth! So just spend a little more time planning and thinking before you go places and do things. Make sure to get all non-plan foods out of your house, and make sure to anticipate when you're going to be out of the house--how long, what meals you might miss, and so on--so you can bring food or plan where to get it where you will be.

Stick with us here--we will support you!

Hello everyone! I would like to join your group for May.

My starting weight is 201.8 and of course no change for this week.

I'm going to go back and read some threads / posts to get to know everyone better!

I have been struggling off and on to get fully on board with the McDougall program. It has been a long and winding road! I am starting to finally recognize mistakes as just learning opportunities rather than continue being stuck in "all or nothing" perfectionist thinking. My goal at present is to be on board with Starch Solution style eating most of the time. (Ideally ALL of the time but I'm staying away from perfectionist thinking which has never served me well!)

I look forward to participating in this support system!
Beth

Can someone please tell me how to submit my weight from my smartphone. This would be my first time and my internet is currently down. (My weight is 249. My first goal is to be under 200.) Thanks!

WOW!! So many new people to the weekly weigh in! Welcome!

For the question how do I report weight...just report how much you lose (or gain) in pounds. You do not have to report your actual weight, unless you wish to. And just post how you make a normal post. There is no special format.

What Lizzie said! I'm going to a cookout and keeping this challenge in mind. Since it's over my son's house I can bring my own food. Making a veggie burger and salad. They will grill my veggies plain. Always have plenty of fruit. So, I'm good to go.

Hmm, I'm a new member. I was reading the April postings and missed the 5/6 weigh in. I plan to continue to participate. Three years ago I started a sedentary job, gained 35 lbs and around that time I had a TIA and started reading about WFPB diets. Made the change to plant based about a year ago. I now have great cholesterol numbers but still haven't lost the weight. I'm hoping that interacting with the group will help me keep on the plan more rigorously with fewer slip ups.
Thanks.

Jus realized I screwed up the date last week. Oh well,...

In spite of succumbing to two codependent proddings (one at work, one at home; major transgressions, but minor quantities. I guess you can tell I'm talking about chocolate here), I managed to drop 1.5. More than I deserve, but I'm taking it:

5/ 5/2016 217.5
5/12/2016 216.0 (-1.5)

Need to keep my eyes on the prize this week; need to get to 215 ( again).

Congratulations to all US losers. And congrats, Joleca on both the new decade and the loss.

Have a great week everybody!

Mark
