tracking MWL with Cron-o-Meter

Postby fiberdrunk » Sun Apr 24, 2016 1:26 pm

I just discovered Crono-o-Meter and love how it tracks what I eat. I'd like to customize it to MWL but am not sure of the values to plug in. For instance, it lets you put in your minimum and maximum amounts for carbs, protein, fats, etc. in grams. In Dr. McDougall's MWL book we are given a percentage range for those and not grams:

fat: 5%
protein: 7-15%
carbs: 75-90%

He doesn't give caloric range, though, so I don't know how to calculate it for Crono-o-Meter. I'm not even sure if the default BMR Kcal that Crono-o-Meter gives is the same as what McDougall uses when calculating his percentages.

Anyway, I know with MWL we don't worry so much about counting calories or fat grams, but I have found Crono-o-Meter to be a very useful visual tool for monitoring caloric density of the foods I eat. I just want to make sure it's in line with McDougall. Has anyone else been using it while McDougalling?

Dr. McD may not mention the CRONometer but his dietitian Jeff Novick does. He has a number of posts about it in his forum under Hot Topics. https://www.drmcdougall.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=7828
