26 days left in 2015!!

I overslept, jumped out of bed to go feed the horses and forgot to weigh. It most likely doesnt matter as I didnt eat great. An excuse, but I ran a lot between schools and just did too much grab and go. :( I had no food prepped and in a 13+ hour day, I had 5 mins to come home, let the dog out to pee, put him back up and run on again. I also have/had a monster of a cold I woke up with the day after Thanksgiving and well the week was just junk. This cold is awful...I wake up multiple times a night choking then spend at least 20 minutes coughing only to do that again 45 mins later. Last night and Tuesday night were the worst. Onto a better week...fingers crossed I dont have any days this week like that. :)

I hope you're feeling better today, Debbie!

It is leftovers all the way for me today, since the house is still all torn up for the new carpet and paint.

The leftovers are from my work-week stew-gumbo-whatever. I start it in a big container at work on Monday, and keep adding to it and eating it all week long. I start with a can of salt-free diced tomatoes, add a can of either pumpkin or sweet potato puree, and a can of mushrooms. I throw in a bag of mixed veggies, some chopped spinach left over from breakfast, and have it over brown rice, or bring a couple cooked potatoes to have with it. I keep adding things to it all week, and I had to bring it home Friday because I didn't have lunch that day.

In weeks when I want more flavors, I have salt-free taco seasoning at work, also Dijon mustard, ketchup and low-sodium soy sauce. Lately, though, I haven't been needing it.

What's everybody elee eating today??

I am in. Couldn't weigh till we got home from 8 days vacation. Will be posting on dates scheduled each month. Starting weight for Dec weigh in is 204. 0 lbs lost.

Debbie: Your cold sounds just terrible I sure hope those germs leave you soon and your schedule becomes better. Lots of sympathy from me!

FrozenVeg:

I am just finishing my kitchen sink lunch salad - which is my daily lunch to keep things simple (sometimes soup, but mostly salad).

I instant pot millet and quinoa on Sundays for the whole week - as I am rice intolerant these are my go to grains. I put one of these over a bed of lettuce (spring, spinach, kale mix generally) and then cut in veggies (carrots, radish, celery, cukes - left over veggies from dinner - whatever is on hand) and then add in either canned lentils or garbanzo beans - all topped with one of the McDougall approved no fat salad dressings and that is my super simple lunch. It's absolutely huge by the way and fills me easily until dinner time!!!

I love your add in method stew and I do that sometimes with my weekly soup to stretch it out for the week!

I stayed the same. What really annoys me is that yesterday I was down 2.5 lbs and today back where I started. :angry: I was so thrilled as I was losing 0.5 each day mostly and now this? I am assuming it is water weight and next week will be miraculous. Or not, at least down some!

Hey FrozenVeg:

Sorry I didn't catch the link you shared above - I am sure I need that wisdom badly :) You posted to Laura - I am even confused by my real name. The Lmggallagher - is Lynn Michelle - but my parents never called me Lynn (well except in that way mothers do when they are really angry at you;) So my name is Michelle actually. Laura is very pretty though - I think I will tell folks that when they ask me what the L is ;-)

This week for me:

I did prepare ahead food this week but not enough to stretch the entire week - I am on a learning curve here and expect improvement over time. The only other part of a day I was home I was in a fibro flare that didn't allow me to do a thing but figure out if I was going to make the evening's social occasion. That night I ate SAD with the others - but not much :( Today same thing but the planned meal out has disappeared - the group is just going to see the SFGayMen's Chorus Christmas show, which is WONDERFUL. 300 amazing voices and my cousin is Lead Tenor - indeed proof we are an Irish Clan ;-) Anyway we usually meet as a big group from around the Bay and do a meal and then the show - but everyone is maxed out this year so we are just doing the show. It was hard for me to pretend to be disappointed about missing dinner in a SAD restaurant ;-)

I really didn't mean to go on and on - but I bet many of us are in a complete tale spin right now - that is mine. And if anyone is loosing we are doing GREAT.

Im sorry, I dont know what happened to your post...sometimes they get lost in cyber space. Do you want me to add your loss to this past weeks or wait and add it to what you lose next week as a total?
