APRIL 2015 McDougall Weigh In Group

Postby Debbie » Tue Mar 31, 2015 8:54 pm

Its not another new month!!!

APRIL FOOLS!!!! HAHAHAHA

Yeah, I know...that was bad.

Welcome to April! The 4th month of 2015.

I didnt make much progress in March. I got in a funk. My horse scared me on the trail and it put me in the funk. Then I got really busy. My eating was McD but pretty calorie dense over all. So I didnt lose anything, although last Saturday I totally forgot to weigh. And by the time I remembered it was too late. Its fine, trying to not live by the scale anyhow. My jeans are still loose. Im taking lessons now with my horse and regaining my confidence. LOL

Lets have a great month!! Weigh in days are the 3rd, 10th, 17th, and the 24th.

I'm in! I started the Starch Solution on 3/1. After two long trips out of town, I had packed on 10 more pounds on my already too huge body, and knew I had to do something drastic to get myself healthy. I was really afraid to do this because I'd only ever been successful losing weight on a low-carb diet. But even that had stopped working for me and I had been slowly regaining all the weight I had lost. I'm so excited that this is working, and happy to have found this group. Anyway, I figure the first ten pounds of last month's loss doesn't really "count" since it just got me back to where I had been before my trips, but the other pounds have come off and taken me into territory I haven't seen in years. I'm thrilled!

It's April 1st and I weighed in at 179.8 lb this morning - down 42 pounds since September with the McDougall progam :D So proud of me!! I love this way of eating and my blood work is so much better. My internist is very proud. He is plant based which is so important to me so he doesn't try to push pills but uses food as your medicine. 25 pounds to go -- and we're off!! Morgkell

Hi All!

I would like to join in this month too, please. I am needing some supportive voices to keep me on track.
I have lost 22.5 pounds since January 2nd. Most of the weight was lost in January, however. I have been coasting a bit for the past 2 months...up 2 lbs, down 2 lbs. I have ways to go!

From dinner tonight I am about to go searching for a spice mix I just read about on the Healthy Librarian blog. It's called Panch Puran or Panch Phoran. She made a dahl recipe with it based on another recipe from Susan Voisin's FF Vegan website. I want to make it...it looks delicious. I just don't know what the odds are that I will find the one ingredient nigella sativa.

Wish me luck!

And I wish all of you the best for this coming month. We can do this! Let's eat food that's healthy, nutritious and delicious!

Hi,

I have been whole food, plant strong for the past 2 months and have dropped some weight but would like to join this group for accountability and structure.

I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and would like to manage this disease via food rather than medicine.

My weight is 313.4 pounds and I have been feeling better than I have in years since I made the commitment to go Plant Strong!

Each week on Friday or Saturday morning you post your weight loss for the week. If you just started and did your first weigh in wait until next week and post your loss or gain. No need to share your weight if you don't want to, just post your loss or gain for the week.
Debbie will list everybody's loss/gain and tally up our total. You can look at the thread for March for an example.

Down 1.1 for me this week. And I am very content with that:
3/26/2015 212.7
4/2/2015 211.6 (-1.1)

Jeannie1960, feenzis, StacyD, amandamechele, rhallet777, josietheschnauzer, Welcome aboard! I was WeightWatchers at work last year and am using this forum this year. It does help. But still, like last year, I just keep thinking this is the only week. I'm not worried about the whole road, just this stretch for the next 7 days. I'm not giving up feast days forever, just this week. The closer I get to where I should be the harder it gets and it's good not to go it alone.

morgkell, we're looking at about the same distance down the road. Of course that's just to get out of overweight for me. Then I figure another 10 or so should bring me close to McDougall healthy. Let's get it done!

Congratulations to all us losers. April is going to be a great month for all of us. This is going to be the year for all of us.
