FEBRUARY 2015 McDougall Weigh In Group

Postby Debbie » Thu Feb 05, 2015 12:45 pm

Sorry its late. I forgot.

Reminder, I only need the total lost or gain. You are more than welcome to post your specific weight, but for my purposes only the number lost/gained is needed.

Weigh in days are Fridays and Saturdays. I will try to post the tally no earlier than 11am.....But sometimes it might be later depending on what things we have going on.

Down 1.8 this week.

1/29/2015 219.1
2/5/2015 217.3 ( -1.8 )

I feel like I got away with something this time. Nothing great, but when I started McDougalling for real after my sister died about 6 years ago, cheating meant half a bottle of wine, three or four beers, or a chocolate thingy from the Cheese Board. Now it means a slice of bread, and I got a bit loose with that this week. So this feels a bit like getting away with something. I did stay away from the white flour tortillas and such, but I ended the week feeling like I could do better. It's good to have room for improvement, right?

Anyway, hope everybody else starts the month off in the right direction. This is working for me. I seem to be able to keep slowly getting nearer my goal to thee and I don't have to have people hawking Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches to me. I just need the pressure of posting here each week to keep me honest.

Congratulations to all us losers!

Mark

Down 0.4

Glad to be down even a little. Still battling high blood pressure so I gave up hot yoga. That's 4 hours of exercise a week that i didn't replace with anything. I'm still going to "regular" yoga. I read the high blood pressure entry on "The Lounge" board. No cheating last week...too scared!!!! This week I'll focus on giving up all caffeine, continuing to increase high potassium foods, and more exercise.

I'm back...

Postby pmcdaniel » Fri Feb 06, 2015 9:10 am

I'm returning after a false start last year. Since then, I've moved and been coping with arthritis pain. After being miserable for months and being prescribed multiple medications, I've narrowed down the cause to milk which I've been getting in small amounts in foods like milk chocolate. Surprise, surprise: It's the food.

Now I want to focus on the food, getting the weight down, getting off of the meds, and feeling healthy again. This seems like a good place to start.

I have been reading these boards for probably a year and this is my first post. Restarted Mcdougalling a few weeks ago and am looking for ways to make this time different so it will "stick" as a lifestyle. So I thought I would jump in and report as an extra piece of accountability and possible inspiration to others.

Mostly Mwl with some allowances for transitioning like a couple glasses of wine a few days a week. My goal for this next week is to increase my activity so that I'm averaging over 3 miles walking daily on average for the week. Possible pitfalls are birthdays and celebrations galore. Working on a plan to make these less food focused and more activity focused.

Thanks for having me! Looking forward to striving toward health and fitness together!

Down 3.2 pounds for the week.

Hoping to lose at least a half a pound this week. I think I'm retaining water because I have a difficult time drinking water in the winter time. Going to drink some serious water today to, hopefully, push it out. :D

So. . . I'm a bit unclear about the Feb. Weigh In Group. Is this it? I just post on this group and we support each other? I'm so happy to be part of this.
