Well, I meant to get back into the weigh-in group a couple of months ago, but never did it. My new starting weight is 180.0 as compared to the 176 I had the last time I weighed in. You can either put me at +4 or start me over again.
I'm just here for the food.

hmmmm... this is the second week that my first post did not post. Posted early this morning after weighing. NO idea what I am doing wrong here... so here goes again...

This week, a pound up. I have really been doing nothing differently so I am not encouraged by this as I don't know what to change.
I find that I get upset when outcomes that don't happen come along with doing the same things as what worked before, Nothing refined, no flour products... so it is what it is. If I was counting calories which I used to, it's unlikely I am taking in more than 1300 in a day and I really don't want to count at all. Ok, enough whining, it is not at all interesting!

I decided NOT to listen to that 5 year old in my head who says, "well... then eat whatever you want, it isn't making a difference anyway.."

At this point though, in living McDougall, there would really be nowhere to "go" that I want to be.

Still, I am discouraged. Need to get over myself here...

I hope this post posts.

Don't be discouraged, Trish. You're already in a healthy weight range, so it will just take longer. You can't be in it for the weight loss if you're a BMI < 25, but for the health gain. And with you sticking to the WOE you're already achieving just that! I wish I were already in your position!

Trish-Hang in there!!! I found that I got a bump in the right direction when I almost doubled the amount of leafy green vegetables, huge salads and cooked kale with Louisiana hot sauce (because I'm Southern!).

So I met my January goal of staying compliant to this WOE and no wine :D
I also stayed off the scales until today. Down 7.8 pounds for January. I had hoped that it would be more but it is a start!

belties, I will lean in that direction... no one will ever find me complaining about more leafy greens, and I could juice more than once a week too, though I know that is not do much for volume fullness it seems to always be a real energy and mood boost AND I get my kale in, not being sufficiently southern I am generally 'reduced' to baked kale chips or juicing it!

mike.. thank you for your support, I will and you are so right (though I can't promise not to get discouraged) that I remember the health benefits, and they have been tremendous over this past several years including reversal of my husband's heart disease, dropping my cholesterol (not his yet... I can testify that oil even in small quantities does matter on this.

And most amazingly I have been a type 1 insulin dependent diabetic for over 40 years and on this WOE my insulin requirements are dropping significantly. Though I will always be on it as a type 1, I can really really SEE now how eating McDougall can CURE type 2.. insulin sensitivity goes up and dosage drops, and with a functioning but overloaded pancreas as in type 2 it could well drop it to zero!
If this happens for someone like me without an functioning pancreas, it WILL happen for you! :-)

tcasteel -- great month!!

Thanks for being here with a thumbs up.. backatcha as the kids say
