Vicki -
MWL as a way of life! I think your solution to keeping a steady supply of fresh produce available for yourself is great, and as a bonus supporting a local CSA likely helps bolster food resilience for your community.
NomeOslo - Kudos! Routine + strong motivation makes adherence much easier to attain. I think substituting adherent alternatives to those advertised temptations (which are inevitably junk) is a beneficial practice.
moonlight - Isn't it interesting how much of a difference those calorie-dense high-fat foods can make for some of us? Reviving a food journal is a great idea! I hope your garden is shaping up well and enjoy those morels. Sounds like you have a solid plan for next week, focusing on the fundamentals.
JaBee - Congrats on your excellent adherence this week! Corn tortillas are not recommended for MWL, as they are fairly calorie-dense, ~990 calories / lb. Do you think brown rice, oatmeal or corn might help quell those cravings? The discussion board doesn't have an ongoing group for the regular McDougall Plan, but you could perhaps start a journal in the
My Daily Menus & Journals section. There is also a
checklist for the regular McDougall Program. If you don't mind my asking, is there a particular issue or concern driving you to consider making a switch?
Drew* - I'm glad you are finding the current situation manageable for you, and that you have a "just-in-case" backup. That breathing exercise is a great, simple addition to the day, isn't it? I've been really enjoying daily walks, too. I shared a link to an exercise playlist I've been using above, but just do the exercise you are able - the main point is to get the body moving and avoid being sedentary.
