Confusing Nutrition Facts

Postby DWu » Sun Apr 18, 2021 5:46 pm

I saw this brown rice at the local store.

https://www.amazon.com/MW-Polar-Parboiled-Brown-Rice/dp/B08GHYQWHK/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=mw+polar+brown+rice&qid=1618789269&sr=8-1

It says there are 10g of added sugar, but the only ingredient is parboiled rice.

Do you think the 10g of sugar is mis-labeled, and the only ingredient is rice?

Do you think it's safe to buy?

I am not sure but I have noticed a similar thing with oat milk. The ingredient list does not show any added sugar but the label show many grams.
For oat milk the process of making the oat milk generates sugars.
Better to stay away from this brand. I checked Amazon and saw at least one that did not have any sugars.
