Stir Frying

Postby DenverGuy » Sun Mar 28, 2021 3:15 pm

I have to meet a friend at a Chinese place today. The best thing I can find is Buddha's Feast, which is stir-friend vegetables and tofu.
I hate the thought of that. How bad is stir-frying?
Thanks.

Some places can stir fry with no oil, just a little water or soy sauce if you ask and make it clear “no oil”.

It’s safer to ask them to steam your vegetables. Most places will steam Buddha’s Feast.

I know this is too late for your meeting, but most Chinese places offer steamed veg and white or brown rice with a garlic sauce on the side. (I'm not sure that the sauce is 100% oil-free, but the rest would be). If you can do tofu they can probably add steamed vs fried too. Even if it isn't on the menu, you can always ask, and they would likely accommodate you.
