Is a 50-calorie difference over 30 years really that significant?

Remember, a calorie doesn't physically exist as a particle in our food, so it's tricky to measure and often is just an estimate.

It's the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree C.

That's what Jeff Novick has been saying for years. You can ask him about it over on his own forum and he'll tell you himself.
