2019 New Why's?

Postby Wonderbugg » Mon Dec 31, 2018 8:16 am

Please participate and help me keep up my momentum for 2019...
I'd like to hear your "Why's" as a Starchivore.
Nothing vague like be healthy...
But deeper...
As for mine,
I want to do more camping and hiking this year than ever.
I want to be the healthiest 66 yr old woman my doctor knows.
Now I'd like to hear YOUR Why's.
Just for fun and to encourage each other...
And Happy New Year! :-D

To live more authentically and true to my goals and values.

To have a deeper connection to the Earth and my fellow Earthlings.

To heal many health issues which sap my energy and joy too often, and gain well-being and vitality.

To avoid suffering the many diseases that are destroying the lives and freedoms of my parents and other family members.

To enable us to have plenty of energy for enthusiastic travel adventures, including off-road 4-wheel-drive trips, as well as overseas explorations.

To give me the energy and 'oomph' needed to start a new eco-sustainability business this year.

To enable me to have the health and energy needed to create our own permaculture property, which hopefully will provide most of our food needs... at 58 I don't want my age to be a hindrance to this goal, which will involve a fair amount of physical work. Many people we know will no doubt think we are foolish to have this goal and take this on at this stage of life and I want to utilise this health-giving lifestyle to help enable us to show them it can be done! :)

That's all I've got. I'm apologetically in this for health!

Happy New Year!

It's really very simple, because I/we feel better eating this way. Now, I could be elegant and say that our shared desire is to grow old with grace, dignity, and in good health.

I want to take care of my body and enjoy good health.

I want to be around to watch my kids grow up, and maybe even their kids, too.

I want to rock a bikini at the pool with confidence.

Life doesn't need a why! It just needs living  And what better way than to do it in health, with curiosity, caring, and love...Happy New Year!

I have a lot of eyes on me. Two sisters, parents, aunts and uncles, two little nephews. They make their own decisions but I know I have the power to influence. I'm going to keep showing everybody how its done. Bet on it!

It's been a decade of dying friends and relatives.

For me,

I eat this way not to live longer but

to live as vibrantly and joyfully as possible

to avoid a self-inflicted degenerative disease

to not become a burden to my family

to be healthy enough to hike, kayak, paint, write, dance, and enjoy my family

ooops...I guess my answer boils down to be healthy...ok second try

I love to eat. This is the first time in my life I've maintained a healthy weight without anorexia or bulimia. I can eat as much as I want without any worry of getting fat.

Plus, the food is ever so much more delicious. I ate some chips the other day and nearly gagged on the oily taste in my mouth.

No fatty dead creatures nor their fatty excretions nor slimy oil means its easier to keep the kitchen clean. AND

No more acne or constipation...

oh, no...I'm back to be healthy.

Sigh...

1) Maintain the 180 lbs I lost 2-3 years ago
2) Feel good - it's crazy how bad I feel after eating less-than-healthy food. I don't do it too often, but am always amazed when I do.
3) Stay "drug free" (stay off high blood pressure medication)

I just feel so much better eating this way. I feel better physically. I feel better mentally (mostly in the sense that I feel good about the choices I'm making for my body). I feel better ethically (I feel good about my choices for the environment and animal welfare).

It's really that simple. Sometimes I eat to much, and sometimes I find myself eating too many calorie dense foods (ala nuts/seeds), but I do not find it hard to stay whole food plant based sugar and oil free (ok, ok, I eat too much salt). That, thankfully, comes easy.
