NBA Players Having Success Going Plant Based

Postby SeekKnowledge » Sat Nov 18, 2017 12:35 pm

I ran across this article about Kyrie Irving and other star players
going plant based. Especially interesting is the fact that he feels
much stronger and his numbers are much better in late game
situations.

Note: Irving says he is "plant based". The author and others including
a sports nutritionist freely interchange "plant based" with vegan.

We all know that they have overlap but they are NOT the same. I
have heard Dr. McDougall speak of junk food vegans. I have also
seen the two descriptions used interchangeably on these boards.

But the article is interesting nevertheless.

Really fun article, SeekKnowledge! And good PR for veganism. I liked the writer's way of distinguishing veganism from vegetarianism:
"A vegetarian can order the omelette with cheese; a vegan goes for the oatmeal with soy milk."
JaVale McGee, a "big man" for the Golden State Warriors, has gone vegan and he is looking a lot lighter on his feet this year.
It's not the McD diet we know, but it's a step in the right direction, especially with these players talking about how much better they feel and how they want to be healthy.
