Thanks. I signed up.

It surprised me when the host mentioned that he was morbidly obese. He's obviously a big guy, but we are so habituated to seeing overweight people at this point that he just looks heavy to me. It makes me wonder how many of my extended family members aren't just a little heavy, but actually obese.

and this from the maker of the series

Do you know what we’ve heard during the previews of our docuseries?

"Who is this guy?”
“Hey, he's obese.”
“Who is he to do this docuseries and talk about how to lose weight or diabetes or whatever?”

Look, here’s why the entire team signed on to this project….

Who BETTER to lead the REAL journey around diabetes and obesity than someone who has been suffering (for years).

Someone who, after having a diabetic heart attack… knowing he could have another heart attack or a stroke at any time…

Someone who being depressed and isolated decided to do something about it.

Who BETTER than that person to go on a journey to discover that SO much of what he knew - and most of us believed - is false.

Who better than someone willing to show up with huge vulnerability and talk to the world’s leading experts about everything from food addiction, to shame, to solutions that work for diabetes and fad diets that don’t... (butter in coffee anyone?)

THIS is the real story.

A real person’s real story. And wrapped around it are the most important facts and protocols to reverse diabetes - and change the world.

Because this - this is a global pandemic.

I think that the presentation could have been tightened up quite a bit, easily losing twenty minutes or so of redundant material. I hope that the whole series isn't paced the same or it will seem very long to me. Never the less, there was enough information to scare the heck out of me so they accomplished what they wanted.

I was really surprised to see Drs. Robert Lustig & Jason Fung.
I thought this was a Plant-Based, Fat-is-the-cause-of-Diabetes series.
As far as I know, those 2 are completely opposite of what everyone else is saying.
Though, not wanting to throw the baby out with the bathwater (!), Lustig/Fung has said diabetes is reversible. That’s something even the old low-carb dieters would never, ever say. Yes, the Lustig/Fung patients are free of taking insulin, etc., but we know it isn’t sustainable. At east those patients know it can be reversed. Maybe the light will go on & Plant Based will be discovered.

I remember Ty Bollinger who seems to promote every quack cancer cure on the planet. Dr Mercola is sort of the internet version of Dr Oz.

I watched the first episode too. It was very good. I have recommended the docuseries to my neighbors and my son's school parents community. Thank you!

I haven't watched it yet because of the time difference with the UK and having to work now so will catch it later. Can anyone tell me how long the episode is so that I can factor in the time.

I'm bummed that it starts so late at night. I'm usually in bed by 9:30, and 1 1/2 hours every day is a lot. I'll try to catch it tonight, but hopefully they'll keep it online so I can watch it later.

Ocean Robbins is one of the speakers. Their family are considered vegan heroes by many vegans altho I was surprised by their last video series where it seems that their family now seems to be eating some wild seafood on rare occasions.
