It could be that they have a bad microbiome, which is fed by the fiber so they feel better when cutting it out. Or perhaps going low enough fat, less than 10%, so that LPS isn't absorbed would help.

Ketogenic diets are mainly used for some cases of epilepsy on a temporary basis since it has adverse long term effects. Many people are experimenting with ketogenic diets for other diseases of the brain.
