Newsletter Recipe Index

So...what happened to the Newsletter Recipe Index? I use this frequently, but now I can't seem to find it...

Thanks VeggieSue.

I can find the old index by clicking on the link you provided, but I can no longer find a direct path to this by following the path you outlined. All I get when I follow "Education/Recipes" is:

McDougall Recipes
Mobile App
Canned & Packaged Foods

None of these links lead to the Newsletter Recipes.

Plus...the newsletter recipes that are found in the link you gave me only go through July 2016. :-(

There is another drop down that leads to the index. It's kind of offset to the right rather than down below. Hover over Recipes under Education, and you should see it. McDougall Newletter Recipes will be on top. Slide over an click on that. As for newer newsletter recipes, perhaps they haven't been added yet? I don't know, but you should be able to find them in the newsletter archives. You'd just have to skim through Aug thru Dec to find what you're looking for unless you know the month.

Thanks Always Agnes,

Your link does indeed take me to a list of the Newsletter Archives, but just the Newsletters themselves, not the pages and pages of recipes that used to be available, listed in alphabetical order, and labeled by multiple categories. It looked like this:

https://www.drmcdougall.com/health/education/recipes/mcdougall-newsletter-recipes/

It used to be when I clicked on "Education", there would be a drop down menu that included the option for "Newsletter Recipes". No more! The link I included above is one I found by searching on the internet, and it seems to be embedded somewhere on the website still. It seems to be the same one VeggieSue provided me, yet I can't see a direct link to this on the website anymore.

Well, I don't know. They might be in the middle of reorganizing things in the recipes because I'm also seeing something different than I did when I instructed you before.

And now it's back to what I was seeing before. Education/Recipes/McDougall Newsletter Recipes brings me to https://www.drmcdougall.com/health/educ ... r-recipes/

So, I don't know what to say.

Becky,

Are you using a Smartphone/tablet or a computer? Maybe, like Facebook, the mobile version doesn't have everything the desktop version has.

Hi VeggieSue,

I am using a laptop, running Windows 10, alternating between Google Chrome and Mozilla for my browsers. Thing is, nothing at my end has changed in over two years, that's what's so perplexing!

Okay, just discovered something really weird....

From the McDougall Home Page, when I click on the Education/Recipes tab my options are:

McDougall Recipes
Mobile Cookbook App
Canned & Packaged Foods

And, when I further click on the McDougall Recipes, it has nothing to do with the Newsletter Index.

However, when I just now tried following this same path from the Board Index page (from right here, from the screen I am typing on), my options include:

McDougall Newsletter Recipes
Featured Recipes
Printable McDougall Recipe Cards
Mobile Cookbook App
Canned & Packaged Foods

Very Strange! So, I have now figured out how to "get there from here" - however, the Newsletter recipes still seem to stop after June 2016. Perhaps they are phasing out this feature and beginning to focus more on the App and other methods of sharing the recipes. That would be sad, but I guess the world moves on...

Thanks for helping me try to figure this all out. :-)

IIRC, all the recipes those last few months were all from old newsletters and the app and are already in either the newsletter archives or the recipes cards sections.

Okay, in the few minutes it took me to type out this reply, the recipes page has changed:

https://www.drmcdougall.com/health/educ ... l-recipes/

There's a new search, a slideshow of featured recipes, buttons for categories.

Well, that explains why things were weird earlier today! LOL

Yeah, now you are seeing what I have been seeing. :(

Although I am not intimately familiar with all the recipes on the app (even though it is on my phone), many of the recipes in the last half of 2016 were not previously in the newsletters - I do keep track of those recipes, and where they repeat. Many of them were from guest chefs, and new ones from Mary and/or Heather as well.

I relied on the index for searching for particular recipes, as it's easier than searching the copies of them on my hard drive, but at least I have a backup method.
