Unless the article says that cereals and grains are God's gift to man and the foundation of all healthy and long-lived populations throughout history, I don't think anything at all about it. And I don't click-on or read such links, as I wouldn't give the authors or webpages the satisfaction of a 'hit'.

They are a health risk to the same degree that bacon and butter is good for you...lol. In other words slim to none.

And besides we know people aren't eating healthy potatoes they are eating potatoes fried in grease or loaded with butter and sour cream and bacon bits.

Pretty much like "I'm eating SO healthy now, enjoying my green salad very much today."

And then the next thing you know...

Fried potato consumption is associated with elevated mortality: an 8-y longitudinal cohort study

French Fries Linked to Doubled Risk of Death
http://www.teenvogue.com/story/french-fries-death-study
The study included 4,400 people ages 45-79, 236 of whom died after eight years. And those who ate some form of friend potatoes – including french fries, hash browns, and home fries – twice a week or more were twice as likely to die. Eating unfried potatoes, which the authors point out are actually pretty nutritious, wasn't linked with death at all.

You must be in the wrong place. This website is for the support and edification of those who follow the McDougall Diet, which is based on sound scientific evidence to support health and longevity. Said diet includes potatoes and cereals.
