StarchHEFP, I saved and organized all the wonderful things you have said above. They are great for educating myself and my family. Thank you!

Jim, as I watched the What The Health movie with you at the SF theater(thank you again for giving me the ride!), I am curious about ADA’s medical adviser, a Mr Ratner, giving his permission to have the motive production team use his interview footage. I think I want to give Ratner credit for doing that. Ratner was filmed denying any connection between diet and diabetes, and refusing to talk further about it.

Thank you! I get the impression there are many male doctors who speak for plant-based like Dr. McDougall, Esselstyn, Colin Campbell, Tom Campbell, Barnard, Fuhrman, etc. but the women aren't as prominently featured. Having met them for a women's plant-based conference, I can say they have truly amazing personal stories because at the same time they are mothers. Their level of suffering from the medical conditions go way beyond the mens' suffering because of their personal responsibility towards family and children, the conflict between home and work as a doctor, and whole lots of mom guilt. These women are truly lotus flowers growing out of mud.

As far as Dr. Ratner, I definitely give him kudos for giving his footage as he didn't have to, he made ADA look like villains, and himself look like a fool. The corruption was exposed, and this 1 scene made the movie. As the filmmakers said, the best gift is when someone kicks them out of their office, which makes for one great trailer.

I did a little digging, and here's also what I found.

Dr. Robert Edward Ratner, payments from drug companies to him:
2015 - $87 total, 2014: $34 total, 2013: 4 payments $2810 total ($2000 from Eli Lilly for "Nonaccredited training", $410 food and beverage from Lilly, $382 food and lodging from Lilly, $19 food and beverage from Squibb and sons)
2012: not listed; 2011: Eli Lilly $2000 speaking, Astra-Zeneca $3500 consulting, $903 meals, $2,656 travel; 2010: Pfizer $1000 consulting; 2009: Pfizer $3200 consulting

I'm not judging the above or inferring anything from the above. This is a free country and everyone has the right to earn a living and have expenses paid but thought I would share my findings from ProPublica. All I know is that the McDougall Foundation, PCRM, T. Colin Campbell Foundation, Esselstyn's foundation, or anyone else plant-based is not paying Dr. Ratner for promoting plant-based diets. Perhaps if they did throw some money his way, maybe he can be educated? Somebody want to pay his fee for the McDougall program?

The institutions that are supposed to protect them: The American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association are sponsored and paid for by the meat and dairy companies like Tyson, Cargill, Dannon, KFC etc... that are killing us! They are suppressing the truth and lying to consumers. The Pharma industry then makes even more money through medicine in treating the illnesses. Everyone profits from our suffering... That is totally mad! That's no different to Malboro tobacco sponsoring the American Cancer Society. Why aren't these people going to jail? How did this happen? Why isn't this national news? What a planet we live in. Truly insane

On behalf of Raw Events Australia and Animal Liberation Victoria - we extend our thanks to each of the 900+ people who joined us at last night's record breaking attendance at the southern hemisphere première of What The Health in Melbourne.

Hearts and minds were opened. Medical myths were busted. The truth of collusion between the animal agriculture and pharmaceutical industry and healthcare promotion organisations was exposed. Now you know. Now you share the knowledge.

So far this is my favorite with each point of view from different people, one of them actually got "converted" after being sick for so long:

Mostly vegan for merely 1.5-month period followed by a week and half of strictly vegan. Already getting off asthma medications and he's been put on that since he's only 8.

Congratulations! I'm so proud of those guys who made a commitment and achieved the goal in almost no time. LOL

Received my What The Health dvd in the mail today. Watched the whole thing. What is the opposite of "buyers remorse"? :D Very inspirational and motivating. I will show or loan to friends or any of "the usual suspects" out there.

Just saw this inspiring YouTube comment earlier today:

GIVE ME YOUR ADVICE | WHAT THE HEALTH?! Documentary

Vegan4life wrote:Leo, you should definitely show that video to you fellow students! My grandpa was near death 4 years ago after having heart disease half of his life and two open heat surgeries along with failing kidneys. I got him to go vegan and now 4 years later he is walking around 6 miles a day and all of his doctors are in disbelief and have never seen anything like his health transformation. All of his blood tests come back great and his kidneys have healed something that his kidney doctor has never seen. His doctors are now looking into the vegan diet because of him. I think the best thing we can do is live by example and try to get people to know the truth by educating them whenever possible.

Do you see the pattern? Plenty of doctors as well as dietitians and nutritionists don't even know what they're talking about:

Trying to "debunk" whatever that's threatening the status quo (and their wallets) with lies and then it's so easy to debunk those so-called debunkers.

Dr. Neal Barnard says "What the Health" has had a positive impact.
What did you think of the film?
I was really glad to see it because people tend to not think about the foods that they eat, and they tend not to talk about it too much.
