Food as medicine: How this Newfoundland community got 'hooked' on plant-based eating. This article covers the actions of two doctors pushing their patients onto a no meat diet.

They are both graduates of the Starch Solution Certificate course and have attended the 10-Day Program

Wow, great story/links to share. The Podcast was a excellent listen where the three ingredients were explained; information, skill and support to make the change to plant base. I imagine their 3 day weekend workshops are patterned after Dr. Mcdougall's 10 day program. I loved the bacon recipe https://giftofhealth.org/recipe/rice-paper-bacon/ and the video of Chef David Lee's burger. Perfect for my granddaughter to try, and make for her father. Of course Jeff Novick's burger is in the recipes of Gift of Health, which is so easy with less ingredients. https://giftofhealth.org/recipe/jeff-no ... an-burger/

Mahalo for sharing, patty

Cardiologist Dr. Shane Williams is another medical practitioner originally from Newfoundland.

He now runs a clinic for his patients in the Bracebridge area just north of Toronto.

Here's a podcast interview Dr. Williams gave recently in March of this year.

Mahalo, great interview. I love how Dr. Williams spotlighted with one of his patients, just using Pam, can cause harm. Reminded me of early on Jeff Novick's sharing of why use it?

My granddaughter and daughter are listening now. I purchased Dr. McDougall Mobile Cookbook for each of them. My granddaughter loves to cook and she can cook for her dad. I don't know why I hadn't gifted the mobile cookbook before, it is so practical to have with you, for only 4.99. I looked up planttrainers on Apple podcasts; https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t ... d957883184 and scrolling down I found Jami Dulaney MD Plant Based Wellness https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/j ... d915210000 Which is great as my granddaughter is very much into sports at the university. And my daughter had shared she just fits in the kayak, and that has inspired her. Her sons and husband are very much into water sports, which is where my son got hurt surfing as he was thrown on the rocks. I think he actually had a MI, but didn't go to the doctor.

Again, Mahalo, patty

I just have to add Pam Popper's "Food Over Medicine", sampler from Amazon explains about the stretch receptors and nutrient receptors and how fiber works as Jeff Novick's Calorie Density dvd does, which can be found online. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CdwWliv7Hg&t=3138s
