From as far back as I can remember, now at the age of 35, I have struggled with my weight and my continuous poor eating habits.

As a kid I went to the buffet and ate as much as I could to ensure that my parents got their money’s worth, which was more important than my overall thoughts of the lasting effects and health consequences. I never put much thought into living a healthy lifestyle.

I was close to 300 lbs and my parents were extremely fearful that I could end up dead at any point. My girlfriend at the time was not happy with my weight either and I soon became resistant to the noise of what everyone was saying that I eventually tuned it out and kept living my usual life and continued with my bad eating habits.

Over the years I continued to struggle with my weight and became shameful to go out in public because of the looks that I would get. My friends would want me to go out and do things but I was not comfortable in my own skin. I would come up with excuses because I was ashamed of the overweight person that I had become. I began to have trouble getting out of bed physically due to my weight, and mentally because of the anxiety and stress. One morning, I got up, took a shower and dressed and I felt so drained like I had worked a twelve hour day yet my day was just beginning.

I was tired of the nasty looks, the stares and the lackluster service that was provided when in public. Not to mention the shame and embarrassment, all due to my weight. I knew I had to change my lifestyle and fix this weight issue that had been bothering me for far too long. After speaking with my father and his good friend about losing weight, they mentioned that McDougall’s soup has less than 200 calories per container which is perfect for one meal. I began to strategize how I was going to make this work to ensure I was all in.

In late January 2018, I decided that I would give this a shot in hopes of changing my lifestyle. Unbeknownst to me, with hard work in the gym and simply switching to eating McDougall’s soup for lunch every day, I have now lost 58 lbs and weigh 215 lbs. This is just the beginning of my journey as I know the true battle will be maintaining this progress long term. I’m on track to my goal of being 180 lbs and I am more than halfway to the end. I find this success rather fitting because I’m currently taking a course at the University of Virginia titled “Transformations”. Ironically, I would have never imagined that I would not only transform my thinking but also my body into something that I had always dreamed of but never thought would be possible in this life. Without question I would not be where I am if it wasn’t for Dr. McDougall’s soup. I want to thank you for providing an excellent and tasty soup with a low-calorie intake which has allowed me to easily transform into the younger, thinner Randy that people used to know.
