Casey Kasem is a favorite American disc jockey and host of several music radio programs, including the American Top 40 from 1970-2009. He’s been a friend of John McDougall’s for several years, and is also very passionate about influencing people to a vegetarian diet, although his approach has become subtler with time. In this interview, Kasem and Dr. McDougall discuss the growing movement for eating a vegetarian, or plant-based diet.
Kasem finds that most people are not upset about his food choices, but more envious. He thinks people have a sense of admiration for him and other public figures following a plant-based diet, including Prince, Madonna and Michael Jackson. Kasem says, “Become a vegetarian – your body will respect you for your wisdom, the animals will love you for your compassion.”
