Ok, everyone. It's check-in time. First of all, everyone is free to choose their own guidelines. The goal here is to stick to them, LOL! After checking my pantry, I realize I can't do 1/3 starch, 2/3 low calorie veggies until I go get groceries on Friday. And I have potatoes and beans just sitting in the fridge, but this WON'T keep me from staying legal. My hubby has been wanting a red velvet cake with LOTS of butter cream icing. I started thinking, "My, I could have picked any other day than this one." But then, I reasoned, I could have picked last week, and I'd have eaten 2/3 of it! As it was today, I leveled off the cake layers and called the children to eat the extra; I didn't scrape the bowl shiny, LOL, or even lick the beaters! I did, however, lick my fingers a few times. But this is SO MUCH PROGRESS for me. And I had the migraine to prove it. Tomorrow will be better, my migraines should be minimal, and I'll be one day closer to being sugar-free. Go, me! (To borrow my teen-age daughter's favorite phrase!)
ok. Enough rambling. Here's what I had today:

Breakfast: 1/2 c. oatmeal, cooked with 1/2 added banana
1 glass of Crystal Light Lemonade

2 glasses of water

Vegetable juice with pills

Lunch: Bean wrap with salad, 1/2 carrot raw

Cup of coffee (I know, I know, but one thing at a time, here :)

Afternoon: Diet Sundrop (my one-a-week soda)

Dinner: 1 c. green peas and 1 baked sweet potato

2 glasses water

Still being about 3 hours till my bedtime, I'll probably drink a cup of hot tea or something legal to fill my tummy.

*********************************
I'm already down 3 pounds (water, of course) but this is coming from the fluid queen. I've been known to drop 7 pounds overnight!
And on the philosophical side of things, it's an outright shame I had to work so hard at staying away from ALL junk for ONE measley day. But one day kept my skin from being oily, and my mind more alert. It's more than a pill from the Doc would do!

Looking forward to Day 2!

Well here's my day!! I am in my second week of McDougalling. Today was my first weigh in. I lost 8 pounds. I know it was water, going from 100% SAD to 100% McDougalling I am sure there was alot of water to go! hahaha

For breakfast I had 1 1/2 cup of mixed cold cereal not much rice dream milk.
=a banana
=a apple
=3 corn tortilla's with salsa,
3/4 cup pearled barley with broc, cabbage, onion, garlic, bragg's amino thingies.
I drank nothing but water except for 1 cup of OJ, which does not taste anygood anymore :? , all week.
Oh, i had some popcorn this evening.
Looking at it now it didn't look like much, compared to what i was eating a cuople of weeks ago, but I didn't get hungry at all!
Keep it up Mckenna!! we can do this!
Thanks for starting the string!

Do you have recipes for the potato/tomato casseole, Holiday stuffing and oatmeal biscuits? These just struck me as very delicious sounding.

Thanks much~

I'll get you the casserol recipe tomorrow, I don't have it with me. It is in the McDougall Plan book.

Holiday Stuffing (make sure you let the bread cubes get dry and you might try 4.5 cups broth instead of 5)
