Kris,

Hello, I am pretty new here. This is my first time trying to McDougall- but certainly not my first diet! My one-billionth diet, I am sure.

I was a vegetarian before, and now, vegan...wanting to McDougall MWLP 99% of the time...

Anyway, reading your post almost made me cry. I have struggled with compulsive eating my whole life. I know that feeling you describe of "forcing yourself to eat" not being hungry, or really craving anything- just filling yourself up. Just totally stuffing your stomach.

I, too, have been trying to lose the same weight for the last 10 years or so...sometimes up, sometimes down...but on the merry-go-round nonetheless...

The only reason I haven't gained tremendous amounts of weight on my 5,000-10,000 calorie binges, is because I can usually swear off it, restrict very hardcore for a week....and then it happens again...

Well, I am proud to say I haven't had a binge since June 23rd.

Anyway, not to hijack your journal. I just wanted to share that I felt I could relate-- and maybe we could help each other.

Kris,

Yes, I do have a journal on here. I update daily, so I am usually near the top....

It sounds like you are really focusing on permanent changes and not drastic changes that create short-term improvements on the scale...

I would just stay away from the scale for a while. (If you can, I am pretty bad at that myself...) Then I think in a couple months you will be pleasantly surprised....

I hope you have a healthy day!

Hi Kris! Hoping you are having a great day. I got a lot from your last post. Mistakes are wonderful in that they teach us what not to be. Something I tell myself is that I already know how to cheat ... I want to learn how to be successful, and succeed. That idea has kept me out of the cupboards lately.

Great job Kris!

You should be so proud of yourself! That moment passed....and look where you are! It would've been enjoyable for a moment-- but then you would have felt terrible. Now, you get the after-glow of sticking to your decisions, and loving yourself enough to keep a promise to yourself!

I am very proud of you!

Overcame temptation today at the grocery store. Won't go into details - just that I returned the items I planned on devouring - put them back in the freezer, onto the shelves - and had watermelon for a treat at home instead. Thanks for the nice posts kristen and Wordweaver.Hope

Fabulous!!!!! Way to overcome.
