Vitamin D and twitching?

Postby greeneggs » Mon Dec 03, 2012 6:07 pm

Hello, everyone!

I started taking a vitamin D supplement 4 days ago (3000iu per day) because I have had a history of autoimmune disease (optic neuritis and psoriasis) and my vitamin D level is low.

Since then, I have experienced weird small twitches all over my body, mostly in my legs. They aren't painful, but move from my hips to feet with no general pattern. Is this is a side effect from the supplement? I have looked all over the internet and there doesn't seem to be anyone else who has experienced this.

Can anybody point me to a possible link?

Thanks in advance,

Greeneggs

What comes to mind, Greeneggs, is that there is a synergy between calcium and vitamin D. Since you have significantly increased your daily amount of vitamin D, it may be affecting your calcium status.
