Ok 1lb down I weighed 238lbs just yesterday not weighing in to day because I had sea salt and gluten oh my am I bloated I knew better when will I learn. Clearly the normal vegan potlucks that aren't E2L aren't a good thing for me.

I'm up 1 pound from my last weigh-in, however that is down 2 from the 3 I gained while on our trip. I gave in to some temptations while in Charleston SC. Too much food, a little too much wine and 3 pounds later we came home! I'm not changing my ticker, I'll be there or lower next week.

Congratulations on all the losses. Some good ones this week, some new people in the game. WELCOME to all the newbies, we really have a good group here.

Way off plan this week. No change in weight though so it's a victory. One of these days I'm going to be consistent.

Hi - I'm back to the MWL Board after an extended time doing everything except McDougalling. I am re-inspired and know that this is the absolute best way to eat. I would like to join the McD Weigh In group so I have some accountability. Lost 1 pound this week! Yeah!

I lost 7.6 lbs and I started on the 1st so it's not a full week yet but I want to weigh in when everyone does.

Welcome ShevaunB. I'm new too.

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone, and also welcome to all the new or newly committed members.

This week I ate mostly from the MWL book. Things like the sweet and sour salad which I really recommend if you haven't tried it yet. I learned how to say jicama, which is like hickama, and how to julienne something. I also tried the sweet potatoes beginnings and I ate nearly an entire 15 lb bag of russet potatoes this week. Still working on the last few. I also ate a lot of different leafy green salads with some non-oil dressings I found at the market.

When my husband sees the things I pick to make from the MWL book he tells me in disbelief that it's like I'm not on a diet. He's been eating the food with me as well as some of his non-McDougall food. He mostly enjoys the leafy green salads with me though he did try the sweet and sour salad and sweet potato beginnings too and ate it all up. Cool salads feel the best to eat right now during these hot summer months, huh?

Good job everyone one on your progress.

I'm encouraged by my progress. I didn't check my weight until today because I wanted to be surprised. I hope to continue healing through the McDougall food.

Fantastic first week weight loss, I don't thin I recall a woman who has lost that much first week and you haven't even completed the week. You better update us on that if it's more. So impressive :nod: :nod:

Thank you lmggallagher. I think some of it is due to reduced swelling. I had around five days of major swelling in my legs and ankles after the procedure.

I did a lot of late night homeopathic things like cold water yoga and stretching up to my knees since I was told to stay out of full submerging such as baths and swimming for at least three days. I still had some swelling last night but not as badly and so I had another cold water session for the ankles and feet.

My husband and I were both surprised by the results this morning. He's also keeping me accountable, but I'm not finding it challenging to stay on plan since there are lots of yummy options. Also I'm not having as much of an appetite as I did during pregnancy. Three baked potatoes and a big bowl of cold leafy salad with some vegetable soup seem to fill me up. I also spread my meals out and eat when I feel hungry around every 4 hours. Most of the time they are small meals from leftover nibbles like a salad and soup or a just a few baked potatoes. The MWL book has lots of great looking recipes and I hope to try them all.

I'm going to try Breakfast Apple Rice next.

:) He's a pretty great husband. He's very encouraging because he likes eating salad. So when I make some salad it feels good because it's for both of us. He's also willing to try the new recipes with me and help me eat it so I'm not eating it all for several days. He knows I like to try new things and he's a good participant. It keeps things in our fridge more fresh as it cycles. He'll keep track of what I'm making for my meals and how my progress is going with me. He likes to be involved and know things and ask questions. It makes it so much easier for me that he trusts me and he's on board and supportive even though he doesn't know much about the McDougall plan.

:shock: Wow Katey! Is that right you've lost 63 lbs in nearly four months? That's 15-16 lbs a month. Great job! Was that all on MWL too? That's really inspiring.

I'm down 0.4 this week despite sticking very closely to MWL most of the week (I had some Happy Herbivore baked treats last weekend).

I'm close to my target weight so I know it's going to be harder now, so I'm starting to focus on exercise more. I probably won't be weighing in until the end of August. We're off to the States soon to visit family and friends, so I'm going to just concentrate on staying on-plan while travelling and getting more practice at eating on-plan in restaurants.
