Generally hummus from the store is very high in fat (tahini is sesame oil, more or less). We make our own:
2 cans of garbanzo beans, rinsed + 1 can worth of green peas or carrots or similar depending upon whim. Process for a bit.
Then you need a little flavor and moisture: i.e. a couple of Tbsp of Dijon mustard or balsamic vinegar or Syrah wine ( oops, we have a vineyard and that could be misconstrued as advertising); keep processing and adding a little moisture until it is smooth and creamy and delicious.
Eat with little carrots or other veggies, or no-added fats/oil crackers. Or spread on bread and add sliced tomatoes and cucumbers and lettuce - makes a fabulous sandwhich.
P.s. if we put carrots in the processor, we've used raw and cooked and both work. Cooked is creamier.
Stick with this way of eating - it's fabulous!

hi hi :) i've pretty much settled in on this diet, it's only been a week and i feel fab!! i only got 4 hours sleep yesterday night and yesterday i cleaned up and went out like 3 times, yes i was sore at the end of the day, but for some reason it didn't stop me! i haven't helped in cleaning the house for about 3 or 4 years!!! so i totally love this diet and want to marry it lol

i've stopped eating the hummus and triscuits, until we can make our own, thanks for the recipe btw...

yesterday my hubby made me a soup to die for, i asked for corn and barley and black beans and he could decide the rest, and man oh man was it gooooood
