MWL is more about what you eat than when or how much. Eat when you're hungry, eat until you feel reasonably full. If you're hungry again in 2 hours, repeat.

3lbs down this week. I worked hard to stay on plan and to balance out a feast day with 2/3 low density/1/3 starches in the days around it. it worked and I'm excited.

A friend and I went out to lunch at the East African Cafe on Wed - it was authentic, run by recent immigrants and there were MWL friendly lentil, pea and veggie stews. The injera had no oil, so was regular plan & I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was up a lb from eating until stuffed, but down again this morning. I'm going to go there again :)

The coming weekend/week is going to present some challenges - a shower, church dinner, house guests for three days and traveling to the states on the Memorial day weekend. I have a plan and am going to work at it, my goal is not to gain :) I"ll work on balance and sticking to the regular plan. MWL will be bonus :)

I put in a little better effort and focus this week and it paid off. I really want to up my efforts to get below the dreaded 200 pounds number in a few weeks.

Good news, Victoria! You don't need to wait for your book to arrive to start! I have the new book on my kindle, and I am loving reading it, but everything you need to be successful on the McDougall plan is right here FOR FREE on this website! Here are some links to get you started:

I don't know what you're refering to regarding your therapy, so you'll have to make that call...all I know is that I've lost over 100 pounds following MWL, and IT WORKS!!!! The plan is simple. There are no tricks or complicated formulas to follow. Just eat whole, unprocessed plant-based foods without added oils whenever you are hungry. My advice to you is to spend this weekend reading everything you can here on this website, watch some of the free videos, and jump right in! Give it your all, and go for it! This is the healthiest and most satisfying WOE on the planet. You'll be glad you did!!!!!

Okay, so I'm in full swing summer mode with my college kids home and all of the busyness of a full house taking over my life again. I love having my family all together, and I don't know how many more summers we'll have like this. My daughter will be a senior next year, and who knows where her life will take her after that, so...I'm enjoying this. At the same time, it poses some challenges, as you can imagine.

I'm taking KK's advice, though and realizing that if I'm dead because I've allowed everyone else's life and schedule to be more important than mine, and my health suffers, then my children, my husband, my mother, etc woud all have to figure out how to live without me...So, alternatively, I'll work on doing what I have to do to take care of myself instead, and if that means I can't do everything for everyone else, so be it! :lol: Great advice, Kelly! Thank you for putting that into perspective.

So, this week I lost another 2 pounds!!!!! I'm very proud of myself for making myself a priority and getting to the gym everyday, following my food plan, and not letting myself use my busy house as an excuse to get off track. I'm hopeful that this will be the summer that I get to my goal weight!

So, put me down for a 2 pound loss this week!

I'm down 2.5 this week. I'm trying to be happy with that, but it just means I'm back where I started the month. Some months are so frustrating! I'm ready to lose, lose, lose but my body doesn't seem to want to agree right now!

Ugh, I didn't lose any this week. Mother's day messed up my weight loss so I am back where I started last week. I made a yummy vegan peanut butter bar, no oil but still a lot of peanut butter and I ate a bit too much. I'm back on track though!

I'm pretty pleased because my focus for the last two weeks has been much more on final exams than on food choices. Of course, since I don't have any non-McDougall foods in the house, it is hard to go too far off-course!

What a roller coaster week: Tuesday I jumped up to 208.5 (for no obvious reason at all) and have come down up to a 1.5 a day each morning. I did the loosing by switching back to sweet potatoes instead of rice - I am clueless why this works for me. I hope it keeps up though?

Lmggallagher, rice has the same effect on me. I can eat even a small serving and I'll be up as much as 2 pounds the next day. I have a body density scale, and the percentage is never up on fat on these days -- it's all water. Who knows why, but apparently rice makes me bloat.

I am up .2, but it was (I do my official weigh in on Monday) very much THAT TIME, and the scale has already shown me that this coming Monday will make up for that gain. So...I'm good!

Highest weight ever: 327 (fall of 2011)
Also aspartame free (except for an occasional piece of gum) since 3/14/12!

I'm up 5 pounds, but TOM's hanging around and I had a few days off program - i.e. had peanut butter, bread, chips, ugh! Oh well, this next week will be better. So far so good today! :-D

This morning I forgot to weigh in before I ate breakfast, so I will post early tomorrow morning. I had a falling off, just once hopefully it will not affect my weight too much. We'll see.
