since you don't need to look weight dont restrict yourself with the guidelines for maximum weight loss. Just follow the regular plan. It may be more satisfying for you.

If you have protein such as beans with your meals you will not get hungry as fast as if you have carbs alone. With the appetite that you are describing it could be that you need more protein.

I am not on MWLP. :) When I eat more greens I am more satisfied and since they have more protein than starches, maybe I really need more protein. I am also craving oats like crazy and meat is very appealing to me, but I never though I need more protein...

You don't need to worry about getting enough protein! (See Chapter 7 of The Starch Solution for more info.) If you are getting enough calories, you will automatically be getting enough protein too. Our total daily requirement is just 20-30 grams and you will get that much easily on this diet.

If you're not satisfied, then look at how much starch you're eating, because as Dr McDougall explains in his book, starch is what satisfies our hunger.

As for the idea that "if you have protein such as beans with your meals you will not get hungry as fast as if you have carbs alone..." it's just not possible to eat "carbs alone" (unless you're eating plain sugar). Starchy foods like potatoes, sweet potatoes, whole grains, pumpkins and winter squashes, are all made up of carbohydrates and protein. When you eat starch/carbohydrates you're already eating protein too!

Glad to see I'm not alone! I'm from 30BaD as well. I think my stomach is super stretched out from all that fruit and now it seems like I am still eating a ton of food and always hungry. I'm struggling with keeping to MWL as I really miss my fruit. But I want to stick with this at least through the summer and then I'll see about switching to regular McDougall for the flexibility...and who knows, maybe back to 30BaD if this doesn't work out for me. But either way, I love my carbs!! :)

Edit: now that I wrote that, I am still stuffed from my breakfast and it's well past my usual lunch time. So I'm hoping that maybe I'm adapting after all! We shall see!

Hi Jaymejoy - I was a 30badgirl too and I remember you! I just started this MWL program this past week. I was really freaking out about how much I was eating and posted a few posts about it! I, too, think it was because my stomach was so stretched out from eating all that fruit. I am so happy eating all these delicious carbs. Today my appetite was much better and I ate more "normal" portions today and feel awesome.

Great to see you here! I hope we all have awesome results. We all deserve to be the best we can be!
