...do you generally eat in a day(on average)?

Really curious if I'm over doing it.

Thanks!

I would love to hear everyone's daily intake too! I usually have two huge (and I mean big'n' heavy) sweet potatoes at lunch, and either two more at dinner or 1 big sweet pot, and 2-3 reg taters... I do fear sometimes my taters are tooo big! lol Maybe I should buy the smaller ones and eat a whole bunch of those?? I always search through for the gigantic ones! Oh and if I don't have sweet pots I usually eat about 6-7 reg size or 4-5 larger plain taters... How many do you have??

I usually have about 1.5 pounds or more of sweet potatoes or white potatoes for lunch. So if they are small, I may eat several. If they are extra large, one may be enough.

Enjoy your spuds! :-D

Well I had a large baked potato (white) yesterday but so far none today. I like to vary my starches but somedays I have more than others.

My wife is still on a potato enchilada kick, so she is eating potatoes every day. If it's not the enchiladas, then we will baked or re-stuff sweet potatoes for dinner.

I don't have an average daily intake, because I don't eat potatoes every day. They are, however, great food to take with you on the road and it's common for me to bake up 3 or more pounds of potatoes and eat them all in the course of one day. I think I've eaten as many as five pounds in one day.

I'm with Norm. They are not everyday but they are a regular part of my diet. On days I eat potatoes it would be 2-3. Maybe every 2nd or 3rd day.

I am trying to lose weight and when I do eat potatoes, I try to keep it under 12 oz at a time and usually paired with a BIG green salad. This is probably about 4 times/week. I am not a sweet potato lover, but I do try and eat one once a month. I am thinking that someday I will learn to love them. :-D

I eat 2 to 3 sweet potatoes, baked and plain, most days of the week.

In addition I eat occasionally eat about four to eight russet potatoes or red potatoes, baked, with some salsa.

I must say y'all can eat a ton more than me. I usually can only eat one potato per meal. So tops usually is two in a day. Russett potatoes are different though. They are not as filling so I can eat two at one meal, maybe it is because I can't get myself to eat icky thick Russett potato skin but I can eat the skin of gold and red potatoes.

After reading this I tried to eat two sweet potatoes with my lunch today (from Wendy's). It was a giant fail. I felt like death for stuffing myself and I didn't finish both of them. I guess I learned my lesson

It varies but I like the golden ones and eat 1 decent sized one with garlic salt or herbimare and maybe something else for lunch sometimes. For dinner I'll have 2 medium/large sweet potatoes with salsa, sometimes with black beans too. I also like baked sweet potato in salad or with kale. I don't have them a lot because right now I have a lot of other starches to get through. Although I had a white sweet potato at lunch today with quinoa chili, and that was pretty good and filing. Oh another way I like white sweet potato is with roasted red bell pepper hummus that I make myself. It's a good combo, and usually 1 plus the hummus is enough for lunch...along with a little salad maybe if I'm hungry..

I switched to potatoes because I was overeating rice :) potatoes are a LOT harder to overeat than rice! Pack on more veggies to avoid overeating, as least as much volume of veggies as potatoes.

I have 2 per day, but they're pretty big ones (not huge, but probably a little bigger than the average sized potato). They are always red skinned potatoes, as they are my favorite :D.

I eat more rice than potatoes. I usually have a baked potato for lunch once or twice a week, boiled red potatoes once a week and sweet potatoes or yams once a week. The rest of the time I have rice. I also eat a lot of squash. But my go-to starch is rice for the most part.

I eat very little rice--mostly taters. Most days I have 1 large sweet tater and anywhere from 4-10 Yukon Golds (depending on size). :)
